» Michael Bay To Direct Prince Of Persia Movie?

IESB is reporting that Michael Bay has been selected as the director for the long-in-development movie based on the Prince of Persia game series. If true Bay will reunite with producer Jerry Bruckheimer on the movie (Bay's first several films were produced by Bruckheimer). Disney is the studio behind the movie and according to the article they are planning a summer 2009 release date.

I'm really astounded as to how many video game movies they are making. I mean..Prince of Persia ? Can't anyone come up with a better idea for a 50 million dollar movie?

At this point nobody has the "i didnt know" excuse to hire him. Anybody who hires him deserves to lose money and popularity for committing such a stupid act.

Mortal Kombat is basically the best game-to-movie ever made because it actually followed the games story.

Then you get fuckernauts like Uwe Boll and later version of Paul Anderson to screw up the rest.

I actually did not know it was Andershit who did MK. I stand corrected.

I guess there weren't any directors available, so they went with a Michael Bay instead.

Hmm, Im thinking of Pirates of the Caribbean..maybe they will go for something like that, but like you said, Im sure they will take the whole sand thing for blood, but I mean, there have been few or no good game-based movies, at least as far as I see, disagree if you like. (Doom movie anyone?)
