» Halo 2 Vista Delayed

Some of you may have seen in newspaper inserts today for stores like Best Buy and Circuit City that Halo 2 Vista is supposed to be on sale this week. In fact the game has been pushed back slightly and will now ship to stores on May 22.

» Out of all the games...
Out of all the games Microsoft could have chosen to be the first "Vista Only" game, they had to pick Halo 2?

A game that was made to run on the XBox, a system with the equivalent of a GeForce 3 video card, all of a sudden "needs" Vista and a Shader Model 4 graphics card to run properly?!....riiight

Nope, DX9 Vista game. Go figure. They would have been beter off just optimizing it for DX10 and SM 4.0 though. Sure it would have cost more but hey, its MS so they can afford it. Jerks.

I have you beat. I bought two Geforce 8800Ultra's and installed Windows Vista on my old Westerdan Digital 15GB hard drive just so I can install Halo 2.

I wish Microsoft didn't try to stab the hand that is feeding them by making Halo2 for Windows Vista only! They purposefully did it to yet again to make people buy their products even if we've bought from them, "they"(Microsoft)make us buy more of their products.. When is enough, enough?

I don't understand your logic.. So you are saying because you bought Windows 95 12 years ago.. you shouldn't be forced to buy another operating system?

I believe he is trying to say that they are the first to make a game Vista specific when it could have easily been XP/Vista supported. They did it because of the problems XP games have in Vista (potentially, aka STALKER) and to avoid all trouble of having to patch an XP game to work with Vista. It's just a side project of Bungie. Remember that Halo for PC wasn't birthed for 4 years, so be thankful that it is coming out at all, and in the meantime, upgrade your system to Vista, even if by hard drive partition and not a full install.

Not only that, but Halo 2 PC is going to have sucky sounds since Vista still doesn't support hardware sound acceleration.

I wouldn't buy it for PC if it was on XP...well, I guess I would cuz I don't have XB Live.
