» Core 2 Duo E6750 Performance Preview

We have sneak preview benchmarks of Intel's latest Core Duo processor. Can you say 4GHz? Well, so can this baby - almost! Try not to drool on the FSB speeds.

» I'd like to see how these stack up...
To an overclocked 6600 or 6700.

Going up against a stock O/C'ed 6700 is nice, but nobody but Dell owners run their 2.66 at stock speeds.

» Release Dates & Prices
6550/6750/6850 - Release date July 22nd (not sure when in wide availability).
Release Price ($USD): 163/183/266
And don't forget the quad core Q6600 also going down to $266 on that day!
Intel has been quite open & consistent about their prices with their C2D line, so although the above is not directly confirmed by Intel, I'd be surprised if it was wrong.

agree with w00t.
The benchmarks and graphs can be dramatic, but the actual end user experience is not quite as exciting. Look carefully at the 1600x1200 4xAA results. If enormous almost 2 GHz jump to provide couple percent higher fps.

Massive parallel computing DX9 gfx cards took over all the hard work for CPUs.

Even "killer app" like Alan Wayke, made for quad core, will probably only make big difference for folks with quad core that dont have GPU accelerated physics.

Intel's got the hardware... now it needs to look for next big "killer app"...

Yeah, even mid-range CPUs are quite a waste of money nowadays, better go with a low-end CPU and use those bucks for a better graphics card.

better places to concentrate resources (off the top of my head):
*better compiler.
more/better mulithreaded software (although all good easy to multithread apps have already been done so sine 80's)
*more efficient use of resources (ie GPU vs CPU)
*faster hard drives, since its been bottleneck for last three decades.
*flash/RAM to speed up boot times, and other system operations.
*OS specific functions accelerated on CPU.

The benchmark charts aren't displaying at the proper resolution for me with either FF or IE. As a result, text becomes garbled as in the SS link.

My desktop res is 1280x960.

Are all of the charts doing that or some of them? Because the text is so long, that messed up the width of the graphs, I tried to resize them to compensate, but some of the graphs may have ended up looking distorted.

I'd say around ~70% of the charts have some degree of distorted text.

Another example
