(Post a comment) » Sign-up for Diablo II beta test 2The Diablo II Battle.net stress test sign-up is live! The beta will include
the Barbarian character class and portions of the game's first act. The beta is
expected to be approximately 100MB and playable only over Battle.net by selected
testers using access codes. Though they shouldn't be any problem for FiringSquad
readers, note that applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Your computer must be at least a Pentium 233, with 64 or more MB RAM
- Your computer must have a mouse, 4X CD-ROM or faster, and a
DirectX-compatible SVGA video card (3D cards are optional)
- You must be running Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0 (with service
pack 5), or Windows 2000 (running with local Administrator privileges) to
play Diablo II on your system.
- Your Internet connection must be capable of running 32-bit Windows Socket
applications (such as Microsoft Internet Explorer)
- You must have at least 250 MB of free Hard Drive space
- You must have a valid e-mail address
In preparation for this final phase of beta testing, Blizzard will end the
current on-going closed beta test a few days prior to the start of the
Battle.net stress test. Participants in the closed beta will automatically be
included in the group that is selected to participate in the stress test. If you
weren't able to get in the first time, sign
up now! Good luck! | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

I hope I get into the beta even though it would be torture to have
such a cut down version of a game that is going to kick so much @%@.

I wish I had a better computer so I could sign up. A Pentium 166
without MMX support and Win95 version A just doesn't cut it. I'm
surprised I got SimCity 3000 running on it.

Umm... Anybody having trouble signing up or is it just me? I'm
getting a 404 on the Continue button at Gamespot. And why is it
sending me to signup.dll, instead of signup.html or something.
