 Tiger Woods Out...Until August!

| | (Post a comment) » Removed: FSAA Comparison: V5500/ GF2If you're looking for our first FSAA comparison article, we've decided to yank it from the site. After a good deal of internal discussion today, we decided on this course of action because the protocols used in the first article were not the best possible way to base a comparison. As mentioned before, we're working on a new comparison test involving two identically configured machines, sitting side by side.
FSAA is a very complex topic, and it's certainly a feature that cannot be characterized, measured, or compared by any traditional means. Because of that, we're going to handle the new article with even more care and attention than anything we've ever done before. FiringSquad is committed to providing the highest quality content. We're not going to be satisfied with anything less than our best possible effort. | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

Those who moan about T&L are certainly jealoust owners of cards
without real T&L.
nVidia rules.
3dfx support ALWAYS sucked. You had a Banshee?? You had a V3 3500??
Then you're D**N F*CKED. Go write your own drivers, 'coz 3DFXs won't
EVER work.
Stop moaning.

What are you talking about. Every game made works on
3dfx cards the day they are released. There has never
been a problem with voodoo cards running games. Thats
been one of 3dfx's biggest selling points. All games run
voodoo, most older games don't run on nvidia cards or
any other card at that. As far as i remember there are an
endless amount of newer games that have problems
running on nvidia cards (at least when they are released
anyway): Tribes, homeworld, messiah, to name a few big
releases. There are NO games that have problems on
3dfx cards.
Driver updates. hello, thats a good thing, its a bad thing
if you buy a card and don't get driver uypdates. Yes 3dfx
has alway been commited to upgrading their drivers.
I have had V1, V2 SLI, V3 and no problems here bud.
Voodoo = stability, speed, continuous driver upgrades,
and reliabile drivers. Compatibility with all
gmes,even
old games (thanks to glide).
NVidia = speed, nice graphics continuous compatibility
problems with new and old games. New drivers that
have to be fixed because they stop new games from
working.
I'm being real here, not like some people. nvidia has come along
way since the deaccelerator cards they started. Remember the
Sega card from Diamond 4 years ago that cost $300 and had 3
games for it or the riva 128. But lets keep it real, they have many
well documented problems like the ones above that still exist.
I've read many post of %&$%@$ of Gforce and TNT owners who buy
games and have to wait for patches to play them.

GeForce still has better overall quality IMHO...period. Voodoo 5
looks like it might have more horsepower, for high res gaming, but
it's not worth the hasle to me.

I have little doubt that the diff. bt. NV20 and NV15 will be
greater
than that of NV15 and NV10. Why? Nvidia doesn't try for a super
new product every 6 months. It does it every 12 months, and has a
faster, better version of it in 6 months.
Since they have only just started this cycle last year we have no
reason to believe this is true. TNT2, GForce, GTS, are all part of
this cycle and i see a lot of TNT2 owners holding on to there cards
because they are not to impressed with the later products. And
many of them have posted that.
Also, V5 4x FSAA is NOT faster than GTS "2x FSAA." Seen
the
benches?
Yes I have seen the benches and The V5 4x FSAA is faster than
GTS 2x FSAA in all the reviews but one and that loses by less
then a frame at 1600x1200.

No Please go ahead list them all and make me look stupid. You
have named Q3 from last year, Messiah, which i don't think even
uses T&L. I know 2 of the biggest games that are comming this
year are duke nukem forever (No T&L, Glide) and Giants (No
T&L,
& uses Glide). I have read about the games from E3 and it has
been stated at most sites that there is huge lack of T&L games,
so
please leave the BS at home. Name the games or don't bother
posting. I hate it when people just say thing for the sake of
saying
something.
Face it, the gforce and GTS are good cards but THERE ARE ONLY
A FEW T&L GAMES ON THE HORIZON. Sorry to hurt your feeling
but denile isn't a river east of Egypt.
