 Tiger Woods Out...Until August!

| | (Post a comment) » Removed: FSAA Comparison: V5500/ GF2If you're looking for our first FSAA comparison article, we've decided to yank it from the site. After a good deal of internal discussion today, we decided on this course of action because the protocols used in the first article were not the best possible way to base a comparison. As mentioned before, we're working on a new comparison test involving two identically configured machines, sitting side by side.
FSAA is a very complex topic, and it's certainly a feature that cannot be characterized, measured, or compared by any traditional means. Because of that, we're going to handle the new article with even more care and attention than anything we've ever done before. FiringSquad is committed to providing the highest quality content. We're not going to be satisfied with anything less than our best possible effort. | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

Devil: Man you keep putting up these posts but you give no proof
to back up anything you say. I asked for the titles. Name all
these games that you are talking about that will support T&L.
I'm sure everyone reading these posts would love to know so that
they can make a make a dicission on wether to invest in a card
that uses T&L.
Please, for once back up what you say. I do.

i have the gts. i play in high resolutions and there are no aliasing
problems. there really is no point in fsaa when you play in high
resolutions. if you play in low resolutions it helps a lot. but i
would much rather play in 1280x1024 no fsaa than 800x600 with it. to
prove a point i have played quake3 in 1280x1024 with fsaa and the
frame rate is fine most of the time. but really there is no point at
that resolution. and at 1600x1200 even more so.

Look dude, stop bashing those NVidia freaks. They have a right to
believe that NVidia will do better, because of past performance. I
myself do not, but you shouldn't laugh at them for having a VIABLE
OPINION. Also, I don't think you should bash NVidia. At least they
didn't miss a product cycle. They also have a pretty durn good
card, although not the best there is.

Agree with most of the stuff, but a few things:
I have little doubt that the diff. bt. NV20 and NV15 will be greater
than that of NV15 and NV10. Why? Nvidia doesn't try for a super
new product every 6 months. It does it every 12 months, and has a
faster, better version of it in 6 months.
Also, V5 4x FSAA is NOT faster than GTS "2x FSAA." Seen
the benches?
Don't see this as a desperate attempt at proving you wrong by some
Nvidia freak. I personally think 3dfx has won this round. I used
to think the GTS would would blow V5 away, but the benches and
articles show it doesn't, and I realize that. Just remember that
GTS isn't a bad card by any means. It's still as fast, or sometimes
faster than V5 5500. I'm just upset that it doesn't offer good FSAA
for ALL games. My hat goes off to 3dfx for their great job in
catching up.

Do you know what minimum requirements means? It means what
it says. This is the hardware you need to get the card to work.
Period. When you buy a game, do you go by the minimum
requirements or the recommended requirements. 3dfx is doing
what it should be doing, what everyone is doing.
man, i can't believe some of the things that get posted here. lol
