I am a hardcore gamer and I own a 3500. I bought it mainly for the
TV i/o. The 3500 is a great card, and has a better fill rate than
any
other V3. I have it OC'd to 210 and pushing Q3 at 1024x768 highest
quality everything at no less than 40 fps. but that's on an Athlon
800 256 RAM too. so the 3500 is still a great card, outdated yes
but it is still a card for a gamer.

Woooh... Cool down, dude... What's wrong with updating drivers?
Since when is updating BAD? Q3A-performance even increased with
these new drivers (now surpassing WickedGL)... Keep it up 3dfx. I'll
be looking forward to get one of those V5 6000.

I hope this fixes my Messiah problems! It's a cool game but i'm
getting sick of dropping out to windows and slow framerates.
Especially when I turn on the TV out feature when I try to record
game footage on my vcr. Why does my machine slow down when i output
to to differnt monitors? Is there a better card for this purpose?
Im stuck with an amd450 for now.

The V3 3500 is still a great card. While it isn't for hard core
gamer for a college student it is a great card. Most college
students don't have a lot of room so being able to use there
computer as a TV is great for them. Or at least that is why my
friend likes his.

I for one am glad that 3dfx still supports its older products...
Why buy a 3500 rather than a 3000 ?
Two reasons: the 350 MHz RAMDAC plus TV/in out.
I recently had a customer who wanted to copy all of its VHS
movies to CD. I sold him a 3500 for the video input/output
facilities it has. Judging from the TV tuner, it has very good
image quality. Also, it has RCA jacks (Video + left + right)
inputs AND outputs, rather than the SVHS input/output
of my own Asus V6600 Deluxe (Heck, my video is NOT svhs !!)
We're now waiting for an affordable DVD-RAM so he can dump
his movies on DVD's...
Were it not for his need to have Video in/out, I would have sold
him a V6600/V6800 pure. But this person is not a gamer.
#2: Would you be glad if your car company stop making parts
for your car ? Ok, so maybe you don't have a car, but you do
get my point, don't you ?

I gotta agree... It's good to see that TDFX is still doing fixes for
all 6 of their V3 3500 owners. :-p
I have a V3 3k.. How could anyone justify paying 2x as much for the
3.5k?

That's a completely ridiculous viewpoint to have. There are plenty
of people who still own V3's. (I'm not one of them, if you really
must know.) Would you say that any graphics company should stop
producing new drivers?

Couldn't agree with you more. If 3dfx wants to make a decent,
competitive product, they must stop trying to update obsolete
hardware (YES I think the V3 is obsolete) and focus on their
upcoming products. If they do that, we might even see price drops
in V5 cards (not likely, though).

V3 3500?? Must be a REALLY slow day. I think 3dfx should be
focussing more on their V5 drivers.
Any updates for the Virge chip???
