Future's Official Xbox Magazine has announced that it will launch what it is calling OXM Digital later this year which will allow folks to download exclusive content that's on for a fee via Xbox Live. The content is slated to cost 200 Microsoft points per each digital edition and will include things like exclusive demos, HD movies, gamer themed and pictures and more. In a post on the official Xbox.com forums, OXM editor Dan Amrich explains their new venture:

Is OXM Digital "the disc, but online"? Not really; I think I should clarify what Fran says in her editorial. Her point was that people who currently enjoy the disc will not be left out. And she's noting that for demos specifically, you will have two avenues to get our exclusives. So if you are one of the people who says "I don't get OXM anymore, but I wish I could get that exclusive demo," here's another way to get it. If you're a disc person, you get your disc as you always have, and the demo in question will be on there. If you are a Marketplace person, you get your download. It's whichever version works better for you, but you don't have to miss out when we get exclusive demos like Katarmari Damacy or Eternal Sonata or whatever. (Corporate hat on: I cannot confirm any specific demos that will appear in OXM Digital at this time. OXMD #1 is close to release but not there yet.)

There will be some crossover of other content too, but the Game Disc and Digital are being designed as different beasts. But like the magazine, there are things beyond just the demo. For instance, I'm not allowed to discuss it, but one of the things that will appear in the first OXM Digital is also being delivered on the disc, in a different form. On the other hand, things like OXM Universe will not be on OXM Digital
