Activision held their regular quarterly conference call today with investors and here are the highlights:

Activision execs predicted that sales of Sony's Playstation 2 will be between 4 million to 5 million in the US between October and December with the PS3 trailing at 3 million. Sales of Microsoft's Xbox 360 will sell between 4 to 5 million in the US in the same time period and Nintendo's Wii is predicted to sell between 5 to 6 million units. Handheld game units will sell between 12 and 13 million units for the time period in the US, according to Activision's predictions.

Activision plans to release new downloadable content for Call of Duty 4 following the game's release this week.

Guitar Hero III's sales have been so high that Activision execs stated that demand could exceed supply on some console platforms although they didn't say which platforms will be affected.

For Activision's 2009 fiscal year, the company plans to release new games in the Guitar Hero, Call of Duty and Tony Hawk franchises along with their first James Bond game and titles based on Dreamworks's upcoming animated movies Madagascar II, Kung Fu Panda and Monsters Vs. Aliens. Activision execs also said that two upcoming super hero themed titles will be released although specifics were not mentioned. There was no word on the fate of the previously announced Xbox 360-PS3 ports of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars or the long-in-development new Wolfenstein title.
