» Turok Team Kill Achievement To Be Eliminated

Game|Life is reporting that a controversial proposed achievement in the upcoming first person shooter Turok will be taken out of the game. The game, developed by Propaganda Studios and published by Touchstone Games, had a "Grab Bab" achievement that would have rewarded players if they played an online match and killed "at least 1 creature, 1 enemy, 1 teammate, and yourself" in that match. This achievement was revealed a few months ago but gamers complained that such a move would reward players for unsportsmanlike conduct. Now the developer has announced that the "Grab Bag" achievement will be removed from both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game when it is released next week via a first day patch (the PS3 version mirrors the Xbox 360's achievements but calls them "accomplishments").

I like em. For some reason they give me the motivation to play my games far longer than I normally would.

So for me, Achievements = Better Value for Money.

Some achievements just suck, though.

Yeah, but they up your user score. A lot of people like that. You obviously don't. Then again, you don't really make the decisions do you?

achievements are such a bad idea, its just doing meaningless objectives to prolong a game that you already beat and they dont even unlock anything...

Dead Rising gives you in-game upgrades for every achievement in the game. It's a very nice addition to the game, and adds some replay value to an already great game.

I wish all games rewarded achievements like this.

If you haven't played Dead Rising, and you like zombies even a little bit, then you owe it to yourself to check it out.

CoD4 has achievements done right, where you get experience points from completing them, which helps you in the long run.

Normally I would agree with you but since they are 100% optional, they don't bother me at all. I get what I get from my normal gaming but I not one to spend hours just trying to get 15 extra points. Lots of people love 'em and more power to those people. Personally, I don't care but then again, I don't have to.
