» Next PS3 update to include revamped Playstation Store

One item PS3 critics have been in universal agreement about is the user interface for the Playstation Store: it was clearly designed as a 3-foot UI for users with a mouse. Fortunately Sony is taking steps to address this with the next PS3 firmware update, version 2.30. The new interface is no longer web-driven, sporting a new menu system with 8 main categories. The Playstation store also features a new preview system, so you no longer have to leave the store to watch videos and screenshots.

Sony has updated their Playstation blog with a video walkthrough of the new store, which should go live by mid-April. Movie buffs will also be glad to hear that the new update will also add DTS-HD Master Audio output for Blu-ray videos as well as support for DTS-HD High Resolution Audio.

Never bothered with the Playstation Store, but I've been waiting for DTS-MA support since July '07.

Thank you Sony for not burning me (for once).

and here's yet another reason why the best blu-ray player is the PS3. I would be thanking sony too for the DTS upgrade, but with my setup it means nothing to me...so sad(for me).

well at least we can all agree that the Wii has the worst online experience of the three. It literally makes me sad to try to play wii online.

Hour long update - what are you connected with? A 56K modem?

Updates takes mere seconds to download and with rebooting and all it can't be more than a minute or two at the most to update.

I recommend getting connection which is not from the last millennium :-)

Nice... also this update should mark the release of GT5 Prologue :)

*EDIT* Well damn, where have I been? I'll have to look into it.
