» I called it in July 2006: Nintendo wins

I'm sick, tired, and lacking sleep, so I felt like basking in some past glory.

... and never mind all those thousands of other predictions I was wrong about.

Yeah siteseeing died a death about 6 months ago... but also there are on average a lot fewer comments on recent posts. I have been using this website since 1998, PC gaming feels like it has been on a slow downturn ever since.

I know people have been predicting the end of PC gaming for years/decades, but consoles have advanced so far (media storage/HD/online MP/web browsing/IM etc) that PCs have little extra to offer these days.

Damn... three years ago.. nice job. But what stood out to me is the 124 comments... what has happened to our community?

Nintendo wins what, the cheap ass console crappy graphics and at the minimum no dvd player built in award. LOL Nintendo wins nothing at my house but a laughing stock. If you dont have a high end PC and a sexy black Blu Ray player with a nice 46" or bigger 1080p tv then you just aint!

I think the Wii is winning mass appeal and market success as a fun game console.

But all my private jets have a high end PC and a sexy black Blu Ray player with a nice 46" or bigger 1080p. My space station will too when it's completed in 2067 (the PS3 is future-proof).

Anyone who doesn't have what I have or doesn't think like I think or doesn't look like me loses. Except the guy dating that hot chick on that show "Chuck". Damn!

Soldier36 -- that's an interesting real name. Are you bald with a UPC code on the back of your head? (just kidding)

I always reply anonymous because it tends to be funnier to me. I like the freedom of drive-by commenting without developing a profile and being a part of the community.

Anyway, I signed my fake name to my above comment.

And I'm just kidding around. You have a personal opinion that's true for you and others as well. Differences make life interesting. Thanks for posting.

See? That wasn't funny at all.
