I'll have to wait and see if W7 supports direct 3d and eax for sound, if not im sticking with xp pro.

Again its obvious for me that everyone was mad at MS cutting hardware sound support on Vista but all is now forgotten when they continue doing it on W7.

So.....even though MS stripped out most of the integrated apps to allow users more choice (a decision I support), the OS still weighs in at 18GB! Am I correct in this assertion?

Well...there goes my 30GB SSD! /sarcasm

It's just a personal opinion of mine but I feel that MS got a bit over-zealous with Vista in trying to overhaul certain aspects of the OS and in doing so, completely ignored what different communities were searching for. I think Vista did accomplish some good things and for a certain range of people it completely benefited them. Right now I think there is so much backlash from the disgruntled users that MS is trying to make Seven into what they were hoping Vista to be: The OS that fixed the issues of XP and could be used by any type of person (gamer, student, etc.).

Or maybe I'm just being overly hopeful because I voted for Obama.

The people I know in other gaming forums are ready to shell out cash now (some have actually taken Vista off their systems). It would appear that gaming performance has vastly improved (and with less bugs/stuttering)
