Today, or better yesterday I played with a kind of wallhack (the
first time ever), it wasn't realy a wallhack but I could also see
trough walls. I was realy shocked when I realized how many people
are using such a cheat. I tell you it's not worth to try it out it
is realy frustrating, play only over PB. The real prob is that the
most cheaters are not the badest players, but with their cheats
there much better, and a newbie who could kill them sometimes has
absolutly no chance to get into the game. Im not a very good player
but I got my frags. I gonna try PB now, if it doesn't work at all I
gonna take an aim-bot, just to try it and to kick these players out,
even if you confrontate them with the truth they're cheating more
and more.
#$$% OFF CHEATERS.
if you don't believe me, took wh and see how many can see you trough
the walls just like you can see them..........

The CS Guide is really a very good article,
I have been playing CS for over a year (often) and have succeeded in
becoming a very good public server player. This article really sums
up just about all the tips I would suggest.
Looking at all the posted responses made me want to post this
response. All the newbies complaining about scripts and cheats
should really READ this guide and play and practice until they
understand how true this guide is. In my experience there are more
good players than cheaters. I myself have downloaded an aimbot and
found that skill works much better.
Applying this guide's tips and principles during play will make you
a better player. Plus, it takes time, it took me a year to really
develop a consistently superior level of play.
There are just two things discussed in the article that I would like
to emphasize.
Number One: AIM TRUE, CONCENTRATE, PUT YOUR MAN DOWN FAST! As the
article mentions it only takes 2-5 shots to kill, confrontations
with skilled players will take a half a second before one of you is
dead.
Number Two is the importance of KNOWING THE MAP: first point of
contact, flank times, where the open areas and angles are, etc.)
Have fun,
CounterStrike RULES!

I'm the Ramones guy.
What I said was alittle harsh because this is a truly great game.
I've never played it in a lan party, but I can see how much fun it
would be. It would be a blast to play a beer and pretzels game with
a group of friends. However, on Gamespy or Won, well... save your
time. I would take a guess and say that 40 percent of the players
are now playing with one hack or another. There are so many out
there now that it would take a mountain of effort to combat them
all. The only anti-bot that I know now is the lag hack between 56k
modems and cable or DSL. Thats about it.
Its like I stated. Sites like this should have the clairvoyance and
address the issue of bots and talk about them when they review these
games. The title of this article states "A beginners guide to
CS". So they should discuss the issue of bots and let people
know what they are in for. Not just this game, but any others as
well. Its a serious issue as far as the enjoyment of the game.
Much more than the recoil effect of the weapons, well Duh. Don't
you think?
I visit this site regularly. I want to see a general topic of
"Bots beware - the users guide to bots in computer games"
in the future. Include updates for the anti-bots.
THAT is a topic that we all want to see. If you disagree, then let
me know, but I think this is a valid issue that is never addressed.
Pay attention Firingsquad, this is what we want to know about, so we
honest players can compete.
Write about that topic and you will get my attention (and many
others). This is what most of us need to have fun.
Hope you will take my advice.

The headshot script and aimbot are programs that cheaters use to get
an unfair advantage. The programs automatically move the cursor onto
the head of the opponent making every shot a headshot. In
Counter-Strike headshots take one out with one or two hits while
body shots take more and limb shots even more than that. To get more
than one or two kills start to play with the intent of living as
long as possible. Hide, walk quietly, stay in groups and look out
for snipers. You will eventually get better and know where to look
out in certain maps. Also aim for the head with all of your shots
and they are more likely to die first. Every CS update will add more
protection against these cheaters and their code. For example one
shot with the Awp could kill an opponent even if they were shot in
the foot but now it will only kill with one shot in the head or
chest. A lot of these aimbot users can be blocked by the server with
the server's own bots that detect the code and by server operators
that kick off obvious cheaters or team killers. Good luck at CS!

Counter-strike may not have the best graphics, but it is a great
game. What it lacks in physical beauty is more than made up with
strategic play. When you die in Counter-Strike it counts unlike
Quake 3 which never takes anyone out of the game. It is hard to get
into Counter-Strike at first because of this death concept. After a
few hours in a lan party with my friends I saw the light. It sucks
that some people have to ruin the game with their aim bots but if
you are playing in a living room with 7 other friends you can have a
real game devoid of cheaters. Also everyone starts off as a newbie
so why should they be singled out. It is much easier to climb up in
skill and strategy in CS. With a 56K modem playing CS is quite
decent but Q3 is almost impossible, at least from my house. It is
also good that the best system doesn't always win in counter-strike,
it is mostly on strategy and a little skill. Snoogins!

Well, thats interesting. I tired to complete my post but couldn't
because when I hit my keys they, all of a sudden wouldn't work.
That's interesting. Well, I guess from that, the powers that be
don't want any anti-bots. Apparently, the "best" players
don't want to play fairly. The powers that be want to
"win" and that's that. I guess the fair and
"honorable" players on this staff aren't interested in a
fair game.
Well it doesn't surprise me. None of these so-called players could
beat me in a one on one in Quake 2 (playing for 3 years, thank you).
I doubt any of them could beat me in CS2 either.
In a fair non-bot game that is. Of course, none of them no what
that is. All they know is the fastest computer, the fastest ping
the very best bot(s) for each game. Haha.
Once again. Whatever.
PS. Joey Ramone passed away. Rest in peace my friend. I want to
be Sedated. I really do.
I'm serious. Someone sedate me!

Amgine you do make sense. Its just that the the so-called players
will not respond because they have certain bots.
Just stop playing. At least until the makers of this game make
anti-bots. Just like the Quake games. Honest players got fed up
and programmed bot protection. This will allow us to play this
great game fairly.
I just wish that sites like this would address the issue of cheats
in the game and explain some of them out there.
The article that I read would have been figured out by anyone with a
rudimentary introduction to first-person perspective games within
the first 20 minutes. There was nothing to learn. Except for the
bot information.
If you

You are right. I do hate when they portray CS as one of those games
where if you die it's always because YOU did something wrong. It's
such a crock of sh1t. CS will be gone from the tourneys also , as
soon as they all relize this game is so popular because of the lack
of copyright protection. :)
It is fun though if you don't take it seriosly at all. Like buying
the para and going nuts knowing that youll get nailed. I guess that
it's doing it's job then If you have fun playing it.
:)
Have fun all!
