(Post a comment) » It's official -- Microsoft acquires RareFor $375 million cash, Microsoft has
bought itself exclusive development from
Rare along with its
self-made properties Perfect Dark, Banjo & Kazooie, Kameo, Blast Corps,
Conker, and Killer Instinct ( CVG) .
Chris Stamper, chairman and technical director of Rare, said, "Our mission at
Rare has always been to make the industry's best games for the widest possible
audience. Teaming with Microsoft gives us the best opportunity to accomplish
this goal. Microsoft's dedication and commitment to game creators, research and
development, and to gaming innovation made them the obvious partner to take Rare
into the future."
"We've always insisted on pushing the envelope when it comes to creativity,"
added Tim Stamper, co-founder and creative director of Rare. "And now we get the
chance to create for Xbox."
Rare co-founders Chris and Tim Stamper and their talented team of game
developers and designers will continue to work out of Rare in Warwickshire,
England. | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

I guess I started playing last Rare game for Nintendo yesterday. I
am hoping that StarFox isn't ten million jumping puzzles like Mario
Sunshine turned out to be. The graphics are not ground breaking so
far except for some of the cut scenes.. Like most games, it is rare
(har-har) that I have the time and opportunity to complete one. Bye
bye Rare. I hope somebody got richer..

you should try the thrustmaster firestorm duel power. It is easily
one of the best gamepads made for any system and can stand toe to
toe with the ps2 pad. Everyone I know sais it is really good and I
know a couple of xbox owners who freely admit that it is better than
the standard xbox control. Its specs are:
12 Digital Buttons
1 D-Pad
2 Analogue Sticks
Force Feedback
and its all programmable and very comfy to use.
