(Post a comment) » Black Hawk Down ReviewTom and Somalia are just like Cartman and Vietnam. Both of them think they were there. So when the Black Hawk Down review came in with this movie misquote in email, we didn't even bat an eye. When I get home people 'll ask me, "Hey Chick, why do ya do it man? Why? Just some game junkie?" Ya know what I'll say? I won't say a goddamn word. Why? They won't understand. They won't understand why we do it. They won't understand that it's about the men next to you, and that's it. That's all it is. (we think that's just Tom's way of saying he likes the game) | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

In response to the review fo Delta Force - Black Hawk Down, I am
writing to the editor who wrote this review, backed my thousands of
online gamers. With all due respect, I totaly disagree with your
review.
Black Hawk Down was created for the enjoyment of thousands and
thousands of people who so happen to enjoy first person shooter
games. If a game was to be 100% historicly accurate, it is no longer
a game but education. BHD is not a documentory of any events nor is
it a autobiograohy/biography of any one person or group of people,
but a game teens and adults alike can sit down and enjoy a first
person shooter game online with the help of NovaLogic Server or
Private/Squad Server.
Considering how poorly your review was written, I would like to let
you know what "I" look for in a review.
1.) Game Play
2.) Graphics
3.) Sound
4.) Special Features
If you were to write another review like the review about BHD, I
hope it is a history book or an autobiography.
Thank you and good Day/Night

All I gotta say is F*** Saddam. I am proud to be an American and
what we are doing in Iraq is one of the best things I have seen in
my lifetime.

Ooh, what a fun political thread.
This war was was not about liberty, however true it is that Saddam
is not a nice person. He was (initially) kept in power and armed by
the U.S. during the Iran/Iraq war.
This conflict is about one thing - oil.
The USA was shocked when Venezuala suddenly became undependable as
an oil producer. Donald Ramsfeld said a number of times that the US
needed to get the oil from elsewhere and named Iraq as a likely
contender. Donald Rumsfeld suggested attacking Iraq on September
12th - despite a complete lack of evidence against anyone at that
time.
Strangely, as the pro-invasion rhetoric started mounting, any oil
links were denied.
It is also amusing to note that US oil repair companies have
complained about the way the division of contracts became a closed
process, with contracts being awardeded secretly to companies the
current administration has direct links to.
Corruption? Where?
I am in the UK and I am disgusted that our Government has gone along
with this unlawful operation.
Any rebuilding of Iraq should be done by the UN, not by those that
performed the invasion, to ensure that no profiteering takes place.
As to future repurcussions around the world of this unlawful
invasion ... India has already started saying that their case
against Pakistan is much stronger than Bush's case against Iraq -
and if they can just invade based upon "suspicions", why
shouldn't India do the same thing?
Not only that, but Republicans in the USA have started calling
anyone who criticises Bush's policies unpatriotic, despite the fact
that they did exactly the same thing during the Balkans conflict
when the

If someone disagrees with you why do you assume that it's the other
guy that has been convinced by rightist propaganda rather than you
who has been convinced by leftist propaganda?
About the infrastructure, I find it heartening that the US and UK
are worried about how to give them electricity, water, phone
service, etc., which in most cases they have lacked for the past 10
years. Why are you so against US and UK companies getting the
contracts?
It sounds like you would only be satisfied if the US/UK spent
billions of dollars and risked the lives of its soldiers to free
Iraq, and then let French and Russian companies come in and take
over (as they were doing before the war).

you exaggerate a bit. 400,000 people have died in iraq in the last
12 years that humanitarian groups say might have lived with proper
food, water and medical care. that is a far cry from
"slaughtering a half million"
though he did slaughter the rebels why Bush sr sat back and watched.

Check the records... people DID revolt against Saddam. The result:
5-year old kids throwin in prison and tortured. Entire families
killed. And in the last 12 years, he has slaughtered half a million
of his own citizens in a campaign of pure genocide.

I really don't see people dying in a war worse than drunk driving
accidents, gang related shootings, murders, natural disasters, etc.
People die all the time.
I can't do anything about those people dying. Whether it's by human
intervention or nature, it's all the same.
Wars happens, disasters happen, individual deaths happen. It's life.
Deal with it.

5 years from now, probably noone will care what the hell is going on
in Iraq.
That is also the time spot for the true 'side effects' of this war
to 'shine' through!
If you still believe this war was an act of good faith for the Iraqi
people, then congratulations! National propaganda works indeed....
Jeez, most hospitals in Iraq perform surgeries without anaesthesia at
the moment of writing.
That's called Humanitarian-Aid-My-Ass.
You think that sharing cherry pies and orange juice is Aid?
Who is going to recontruct Iraq's water supply system and
electricity? That's right, US-UK contractors. And by the time they
do, I can't even imagine the casualties.
What's actually kind of ironic is the fact that while the UK-US
combo bombed every kind of infrastructure in Iraq, they claim it's
the UN's responsibility to take care of the humanitarian
shitcleaning. Nice going there. Haha.
Enjoy eating Freedom Fries and Liberty Stake. If YOU would feel so
sensible as to try to change the regime in Iraq would YOU do it that
way? A couple of assasinations and enough political pressure and I'm
sure people would revolt against Saddam anyway....

uprising from what? the ability to practice your own religeon
without fear of reprisal? The ability to sit in the street? The
ability to buy food from whoever you like?
Take your head out of the sand. Im not saying the US did the most
tactfull thing but at least they will be free.

You know, I think Pentagon spokesperson Victoria Clark summed up the
administration's mentality nicely the other day in response to
correspondants critical questions in regards to those 9 innocent
civilians who perished in that absurdly overkill (four two-ton
bombs) strike on a building in an upper-class Baghdad neighborhood,
when she callously said "war is a nasty business, and
collateral damage happens."
