 Tiger Woods Out...Until August!

| | (Post a comment) » Raven Shield ReviewTango down! That's music to Jakub's ears... or more like winning the lottery. Poor guy, he could just never quite squeeze that mouse button fast enough for a nice, clean burst of 5.56mm lead. And what better game to do it in than the hot, sexy, Unreal-engine powered Raven Shield? Throw those spicy graphics into the tried-and-true Rainbow Six recipe and you've got a sure winner right? Maybe. The formula is starting to taste a little stale. | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

Best Game ON The Market. No Flaws, great fps, and runs great on all
vga boards. More games need to follow this games example, this is a
well written game, does not need all the tweaks and so on, patches
etc. to run right after you have paid money to play it.

THe reason the maps are more generic and there is an overall
"hamfisted" feel to the gameplay is the absence of the
original Red Storm team. Rainbow Six 3 was made by UbiSoft using
Tom Clancy's name. None of the original developers, who actually
cared about trying to make a counter-terrorist SIMULATION,
contributed to Raven Shield.

coop multiplayer is a feature lacking in games today. Not everyone
wants to play AGAINST their friends, rather coop with. Q2 was the
last great coop IMHO (half life with the mod does a reasonable job)

What bad things did I say about the engine? If anything I thought
that they didn't utilize it to its full capability.

GR is not a rip off of R6. It is an entirely different game with the
same one shot one kill realism. GR takes place in the battle fields
and country sides, R6 takes place in close quarters.
No rip offs here just different realistic shooters.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the weapon stats being completely
off. And in some cases like the M14 the guns being full-auto when
its only a semi-auto rifle.
Plus it would be nice to silence or supress an assault rifle and not
make it do less damage than a pistol. Or be able to silence and put
a scope on a rifle (ie, add 2 atachments), so your not always using
the MP5SD5 + miniscope (best gun in the game).
The Bot AI does suck, but atleast the game has Co-Op Multiplayer,
which automatically gives it a 90%+ in my book.
Maybe FS could do a favs list/review on all the good Co-Op
Multiplayer games out there?

I only play multiplayer on a LAN. With the UT type editor many new
multiplayer maps are already made. Over the next year there will
probably be dozens of high quality user made maps. The review
ignores the fact that hundreds of people are skilled at making maps
for UT. Surely some of these people will make maps for Raven Shield.
Additionally I don't find that the bots have laser aim. They miss me
frequently, and getting shot doesn't lead to fatality one third of
the time.
