(Post a comment) » The Hulk Review... and here we have Brett savoring the subtle, thought-provoking Hulk experience without feeling as if the subject matter is pretentious or out-of-touch with the real world. Take note of Brett's delight in discoursing on heavy philosophical and political subjects with the jolly green guy, as Brett's carefully phrased and planned logic traps are deftly deflected by the Hulk with his absolutely perfect use of minimalist contentious conversation ethic. This may be the first time in history that a debate about the meaning of life has been resolved with two words - HULK SMASH! | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

I must say this is the best stress relief since Quake III. If you
don't enjoy watching guys spinning through the air and the ground
shake as the Hulk battles, you ought not to buy it. Bravo!

The demo has some cool cutscenes, but it's way too short, shortest
demo I ever played. Not nearly long enough to determine if this is a
game I want to buy.

For the quality of this game, they should sell it for $20. Now if
it was Half-Life2, I would be willing to dish out $60.

I actually enjoyed the Hulk game pretty well. It is a pretty good
casual game for PC's, and I didn't have any problems with the
resolution. I actually ran the whole game through at 640x480, and
didn't even notice. (For reference, the other game I play,
Il-2:Forgotten Battles, I run at 1600x1200).
Unlike some games, this is a nice game to introduce people to
computer gaming with, and it's pretty cheap for the PC. I got mine
for $30 at Walmart
I use a joystick with my game.

Yes, Brett did make a mention of this discrepancy between
cel-shading and realism, where the Hulk is cel-shaded to blend well
with the comic books. The problem is that they didn't make the
whole environment cel-shaded, and it makes the Hulk character out of
place.
A nicely drawn cel-shaded game is XIII and you can see the
screenshots here:

Yeah the worst part about Two Towers was the crappy mission design.
But after the first couple of levels you'll find that "button
mashing" isn't good enough to get through the fights. At least,
not for me. The advanced combos and overall design of the fighting
system were the highlights of the game. It's all about filling up
the mojo meter and getting the instant kill arrows (temporarily).
Return of the King, from what I saw at E3, will have much better
mission design, along with some interactive elements on the
battlefield (like usable catapults and such). And it will be on PC.

Does anyone besides me think that the Hulk in the movie is too
cartoony and doesn't look at all like it's real? Now of course I
know the Hulk isn't REAL, but he looks almost like Roger Rabbit
standing next to Bob Hoskins.
