 Tiger Woods Out...Until August!

| | (Post a comment) » Enemy Territory ReviewBest multiplayer game ever. Best first-person shooter ever. First game to break Jakub's addiction to Battlefield 1942. And this has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that it's absolutely free. How much do we love Enemy Territory? Probably more than the devs themselves. Oh, and speaking of which, we've got a beefy interview with them about the game. How's that for sexy? Yeah, you like it when she calls you daddy.

BF is much fun, but it has some SERIOUS issues that EA doesn't
appear interested in addressing (try voting on something, for
instance). BF feels clunky and shouldn't pretend to support 64
players when it can barely do half that well. At least somebody
finally did a good job with vehicles.
ET is NOT the best anything, although it too is alot of fun.
Hopefully some of it's depth will make it's way into the next-gen of
these games, but 6 maps isn't worth $20 (RTR, anyone?) so the free
price is somewhat understandable.

they should not say 'medic' when they die without hope of recovery.
they should have a death scream or something.

Go play Tetris because you're obviously too young for games that
require objectives and teamplay

"The Mg42 fires quicker it would take an age before it spat
fire on RTCW now it's much quicker."
That's cos in RTCW is was the Venom gun, not the MG42.
You've got wicked ping, though. I've got DSL and my ping is rarely
below 100!

Well WOW what a freebie... and seemingly the latest itineration of
the Q3 Engine.
It is playable on a modem I live in West Wales in the UK and my
friends modem(v92 Us Robotics - External) gives playable pings of
120-180 average.
All you who've moaned about ping issues should look at their Modem
and ask if the net code loops back from the game to the CPU to be
compressed before even getting to the modem which doesn't happen on
a good modem, thus you get a better ping.
It does help if the server has that helpfull modem balancing switch
set, but it is down to who has the line first and how quick U R on
your fingers ;)
The Mg42 fires quicker it would take an age before it spat fire on
RTCW now it's much quicker.

There should be an option to not hear "medic" if you
aren't a medic, and the other animal calls. They are extremely
annoying. I may actually play the game if that were fixed and some
of the spam stuff (like airstrikes) were reduced.

The sniper rifle is actually pretty useful. If you go prone in the
right location, have the breath control skill and a reasonably smart
team, you can really tear crap up. The secret is to ignore the
accuracy meter and just fire as fast as possible. Assuming you can
aim. Most shots will hit. If your accuracy is full (or should I say,
empty), aim for the head for a much more damaging shot (more often
than not a kill).
