(Post a comment) » Jedi Academy ReviewBrett got some quality time with a quality Star Wars product. Meaning, it had nothing to do with George Lucas' latest efforts. Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy: Too Many Colons is everything that was good about Jedi Outcast, and none of the suck. With a rather open approach to missions, Jedi powers from the word go and famous locations to explore... what more could you ask? | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

Not a bad game, but sometimes it just gets riduculous, especially in
the last couple of missions, the number of Dark Force-users you have
to face. There's been times I see 6 saber blades on screen plus a
couple Dark magicians who just hit you with the Force.
The duels in Jedi Outcast were better because the most you ever had
to fight at once was two or three.

Hey Colmag, if it runs slow, either upgrade your machine or turn the
lighting effects off - no wonder you are ****ed off!
I thought this game had a more impressive plot than either of the
new movies - they seem to stick to the original trilogy 'style'
which makes me a little bit more affectionate to the game...
Shame there is a lack of graphical advancement - and some of the
levels are stupidly designed (I found it sooo easy to get lost on
some levels). Still an improvement on JKO tho!
Oh yeah, I'll scream if anyone else mentions what title it should be
called. Who cares?

Finishing it on the light side was easy, but the dark side is almost
impossible on hard. Kyle is simply too good.

I found it very easy to finish(light side anyway) when using 2
sabers all you had to do was crouch and walk towards all jedi
including tavion/DJGhost and they were dead in no time....

you all remember this game is technically Dark Forces IV, right?
Nobody seems to notice how rough the game's production values are.
And personally, I think this is the Quake III in one of the ugliest
incarnations I've seen of it.
The cutscenes are done horribly. Theres no easing of the camera
movements at alll, its as if they were programmed in a series of
basic lines that dictated the movement. And the voice acting, while
of decent quality, sucked. I want to slap everyone except Kyle. and
Jaden's companion needs to die. Fast.

Uh... you're not actually supposed to kill it, you know. Just run

I couldn't kill the rancor, it just dept respawn. That was the most
annoying thing in the whole game to me. I mean how the heck can you
respawn a rancor in a couple seconds. Just plain ridiculous. Plus
the fact it takes sooo long to kill that rancor. By the way this is
the normal sized rancor not the giant one.

3: Jedi Outcast 2: Jedi Academy".

The summary says "Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy"
but I thought it was "Star Wars: Dark Forces 4: Jedi Knight 3:
Jedi Academy".
