can't find a nocd patch to fix my crappy DX:IW.
tried everywhere. i've bought the game, but the &$&% thing wont
play. it seems that i've wasted my money on this crap game, but i'd
like to play it and find out for myself.
shame that Ion Storm have managed to go from a fantastic game, to a
reall POF-S to save money.

I rarely take the time to post on reviews such as this, just a quick
glance has shown me, that my view of the game has been offered. Yet
I feel I would be at fault for not extolling the absolute shodiness
of this game. DX:IW would have been better using the original quake
engine, it was more compelling. It took me three days of skimming
posts, digging though archived drivers for my video card, and
waiting for the update one of the tech guys said was unneccesary
before the game was even playable. 45 minutes later, I realized the
prize was the enlightment of how much fun it is to deal with DirectX
9, because the effort and contentment of succeeding in making the
game function was much more intense than the &*^^ing game
itself. Okay, I feel at least partially vidicated. I finished the
game in the hopes it was a cruel joke, and completing the ever so
small game would bring about the unlocking of the real game hidden
away, alas I was mistaken. In closing, I would like to let the
creators know they have ruined the sequel to an incredible game.
Congrats, you have my fifty bucks, I hope you choke on it.
Thanks for the vent

Sirwar, HAVE you played it? the full retail game? have you gone to
the store and dished out 1/2 of $100 for it? if you have then i
welcome your thoughts... and even the sarcasm directed at me... if
you havnt then i ask you to go get it and see for your self how
incredibly lame it really is... there is no leaning... someone
mentioned that the messed and made a tron sequal... thats about
right it bloody well LOOKS like tron would... besides... mabey its
just the fact you can run up to someone shoot em like 3 times before
they turn 'hostile' they just keep saying... "hey cut that
out" or the like. the game is a bomb in every possible meaning
of the word...

Um, I hated the first game and don't care about this one either..
So, did that guy wet himself in the pictures or is that just the wet
jeans look? Do they just hire ugly, fashionably inept people to
work on that "game"? Okay, I know.. all totally
inappropriate. Hell, I laughed!

I dunno, to me a great game is a great game. I have played GTA Vice
City on my PC to completion and it was amazingly awesome, I have
played it Playstation 2 (at a friends just bumming about) and it was
really good. Personally I prefer the PC game, my mate who has messed
about on it with my PC prefers the PS2 version.
That has nothing what so ever to do with my feelings about DX2. My
feelings about DX2 are that they released this game to the public
when they should have sent it to some beta testers. Its got nothing
to do with this game being a cross platform developement, and
everything to do with ION and Eidos rushing to get this game on the
shelves before Xmas, even thou it isn't ready yet. OK if they had
developed for a single platform rather than two then they would have
had more time yada yada yada *IRRELEVANT* the fact is they released
lame assed beta code.
The same thing happened with Temple of Elemental Evil, it could have
been the next Balders Gate, but due to its miscarriage it came out
still born. Its down to games companies being more intrested in
raking in the bucks ASAP rather than taking a bit longer to make
sure the game actually works before selling it.

man, there is a certine order to games...
things made for the xbox/ps2/gamecube that are then ported to the pc
have a consoley feeling left on them... and the game usually suffers
from this... halo had it... gta VC had it... though they are good
ports and well done... they still had the 'residue' left over of
being tainted with console crap!
things made for the pc then ported to various consoles have a
computery feeling usually... however this is much easier to deal
with then the previously mentioned one.
deus ex was all that dx2 is not... dx2 fails in every aspect of
gameplay... deus ex was MADE to be a first person
shooter/rpg/tactical SIMULATION based in a futuristic world...
deus ex: IW is a cartoony fps with horrible means to explore your
futureistic world...
also someone else commented on story... without means to portray
this story in a BELIEVABLE manner there is no way to tell it... I
personally loathed the dx1 story... and almost every game story ive
ever come across... the few exceptions being.. fallout 2, arcadia,
KOTOR, JKIII (save for the lame ending), besides good games dont
NEED a 'story' to be fun... they NEED objectives... something to be
done... the 'story' is just background info to make the obectives
look like the good/bad thing to do... dx2 is NOT deus ex... it is a
mindless shooter where the faster u can hit the fire button the
better off u are... there is no true stealth way... a single bullet
to the head would kill... not 5... i WANT to sneak up behind a guard
and knock him out/kill him silently (WITH ONE SHOT OF A SILENCED
PISTOL!!!) and pick up the body to leave no evidance then study the
other guard to

oh dear god! Deus Ex: Invisible War is the worst software i have
used since.... ever! the graphics are POS, the hud has been
'streamlined' into oblivion. Ive said it before ill say it again...
Ion Storm sold out to consoles! they forgot everything they learned
with deus ex 1, and the thief series in order to point at us and
laugh at our stupidity at buying their 'product'... the 1st 'level'
looks %&$$ near cell shaded, everything is a massive blue/gray
blur. not to mention the controls are totally screwed... they turned
the hallowed deus ex name into nothing more then something uncle moe
said at the family reunion to send your parents into a mindless
2hour 'dont-say-such-things' lecture. this game is the epitome of
failure... the development team of dx2 coulda sat on their hands
blowing spit bubbles for a week and come up with something better
then this #$!!! you CAN NOT tell me this offensive peice of software
(As i refuse to give it the honor of being called a 'game') took
near 3 years to develop, things coulda been thrown together in 3
months that look/sound/feel/are better then this POS POS(oftware)...
i didnt think it possible that ion storm could screw the deus ex
ideal into the brainless peice of goo that it currently is! as it is
Knights of The Old Republic offers more of a deus ex experience then
deux ex 2. if you bought this software and cannot return it you have
my sympathies, and you should write down all the things that you
find offensive... like everything about it save the box art... mail
them to ion storm and then we can watch the 5 oclock news to see if
the massive amount of mail generated is enough for a human being to
physicall

Jesush, I am sick of this.....
How on earth can they have released such a poor peice of code and
dared to call it a game?
I ain't talking about the actual "game" itself as I have
NO IDEA what its like, as I have yet to be able to actually play it.
I have spent about 2 days trying to get this bleedin thing to work
and still had no success. This makes TOEE look !@$% near perfect and
Microsoft look absolutly brilliant when it comes to bugs.
If I recieved this game as a beta tester I would be complaining that
it needs work doing to get it to beta testing level. The fact that
it has been shipped and sold to customers is just plain shocking. I
don't know where the blame lies in this being rushed out of the
gates now, wether its Eidos demanding code to be released or ION
saying here is a ready product, the other company should have turned
round and said nope, its not ready. Warren Spector and the rest of
the team should have refused to let this go gold, it simply ain't
ready.
Spector should have threatened to publicly resign if this set of
code went on sale, afterall its his reputation that this is
tarnishing. (read trashing)
My advice to any fans of Deus Ex is NOT to buy this game until a
pach has been released that will allow you to play the game.

Grow up. You sound like an extremely childish Macfanatic.
#80 cheers for the link, I have been to that site, but can't DL the
link for some reason *GRRR*, and how have a virus from getting a
crack from kazza *BOOGER*. Stupid me for trusting kazaa *SIGH*.
Well once I have sorted out this bleedin virus I will take another
look at that site and see if I can get Deus Ex Invisible war up and
running.
Personally i would rather play a game and find out if i like it not
than base my judgements on a rather childish veiw of the PC /
Console debate. I am however deeply frustrated at ION for making
such a basic gaff on its CD protection.
