Not only does this card boast new specs, NVIDIA and a group of its 5900 XT board partners are launching a special promotional bundle just for the holidays: inside the box is a free copy of Call of Duty! This might be the best value card of the year.
I also put in an order for one at newegg. I 188 with call of duty.
Who could ask for a better card.

Not signed in. Sigh. That's me, down below this, as well as in the
"Merry Christmas" thread I was inexplicably taken to after
I signed in...

Ah well, with the Call of Duty coupon along with $188 price tag
& no shipping at newegg.com, I went ahead and got one, since
it's the most card one can get for that price, and with Call of Duty
added in, it's like I bought the card for $150, then bought the
game!
Of course ANYTHING can beat the GeForce 3 Ti 200 I currently have!
:P

I just put one on order. It better be kick azz for swg. My 5200
can't handle pixel shades for sheet.

It would be nice to see a overclock comparison between the 5900 xt
and 9600 xt. Tied to a FPS vs $$ graph, as that will the be the main
determining factor for us fiscally conscious gamers.

Yeah, I have experienced this whole fiasco firsthand, since I asked
for a GFX 5900 for Christmas. I basically gave up trying to explain
the differences in the SE/XT, regular, and Ultra to my brother, the
only person in my family that would even know half of what I was
talking about, let alone care.

Choosing a competitors naming scheme that has been branded
previously and then using it on your brand? Yes I can blame them.
Just not right if you think about it. There are so many other
combinations of letters and what not they could have used why did
they use both suffixes that correspond to ATI branding? They did
not even use the suffexes in the same context thus confusing the
general populous even more. It's like me selling a car with an
engine named proche. (though not made by porche and porche is a
registered trademark, you get the idea) It could be a great engine
that preformed like a porche engine or a really crappy one. It
doesn't matter what matters is it confuses the customer to as what
is in the car since proche has built up their branding.
