(Post a comment) » CES 2004With the continuing decline of Comdex, CES was hailed this year as a savior for the computer industry, a place to show off computer wares and goods. On the surface, CES sounds great - a public show with 100,000 tech-savvy, gadget-hungry attendees. And yet, even with all the rhetoric about the convergence of the PC and consumer electronics, CES still misses the mark for the PC industry. - Dan digs past all the hype and explains why. | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

Is it just me or did this coverage kinda suck. Was it a car show
:-( ? I see no gadgets that other sites have previewed. I am a bit
disappointed. Hopefully the "real" review is in the
future.

At least he is giving it away. There are lots of tax shelters to
choose from. It is just a tax deduction, he could give about a
third to a half of that to the US govt and keep the other two thirds
to a half for himself. He could do worse.
cynic in me:He gives back (AIDS foundations) to keep more people
alive to buy more windows to get more money.

actually, that charity figure is paid over a certain period of time.
like yoshi said, "it's not like they just forked over
everything they owned". besides, not everything he owns is
under the microsoft stocks. he's got other investments as well.
having all your eggs in one basket is a bad idea, especially for
someone who's rich like billy.
