 Tiger Woods Out...Until August!
 |

| | (Post a comment) » Activision Pre-E3 2004Jakub recently attended Activision's pre-E3 event in Santa Monica and was given a chance to take a glimpse at some of Activision's upcoming high-profile titles. We've chosen from our notes the most interesting and relevant games: Doom 3 on Xbox, Call of Duty: United Offensive and of course the ghoulish Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines. At the least, take a gander at the new screenshots of Doom and Bloodlines to get an idea of how sexy games are getting. | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

Doom3 on X box
Am I the only the suspects that Microsoft paid off ID to hold off on
releasing Doom3 for PC until the Xbox version is avaiable?
...hmmmmm!

The fact that DooM 3 is not going to even use System Link for Lan
play on XBox is a shame that will cause DooM 3 XBox version to reach
the clearance bins because no one will care about this game's
limited, unjustifiable gameplay, just like Jedi Knight II Outkast
was already forgoten in the clearance bins because no one wants to
buy or play those games.
Fact is Halo, the same game that was released way back in 2001 will
continue to be played by the XBox faithfull mainly because it is
just way too much fun to play in System Link and XBoxConnect, even
after the end of all games, Halo 2 is released.

Well, maybe minimum specs aren't as important as they used to
be...Still, you only benefit from making your rig more powerful :)

Am I the only one who thinks that perhaps ID was paid off by
Microsoft to delay the PC version of Doom3 until AFTER the Xbox
version is avaiable?
Thanks

Anybody know how to get the Doom3 alpha to work on a Gforce4 ti?
Just a blank screen appears and then it crashes.

The screenshots are really low quality on the XBOX compared to the
PC screenshots, and persoanlly, it is lower quality than when I
played the Doom III alpha.

Nah it's so the companies can cover their rears. Anything less than
the minimum req means, they will not provide support if something
goes wrong. It's practical. Someone using a P2 equivalent system to
run D3 is likely to run into more probs than someone on a P4
equivalent. Moreover it protects them from people that try to play
it on an underqualified system and complain about low FPS, low mem
crashes, etc.

playing so that lag is few and far between, maybe once in every hour
of play for like a minute it gets laggy, the rest of the time it
does perfectly fine.
it's a &@%@%&&@! conspiracy, all the new games want me to buy a new
pc so they raise "minimum" requirements and make me feel
intimidated. well i've had enough of that.

You can play Doom3 on a Pentium-2 machine, just not well. What is
your definition to "playing fine"?
