| | (Post a comment) » Leadtek WinFast A400 Ultra TDH ReviewLooking for a GeForce 6800 Ultra card with a little more features than your typical reference design? Leadtek's WinFast A400 Ultra TDH may be just the card for you! Leadtek replaces the stock aluminum cooler with an all-copper unit that runs quieter than NVIDIA's reference cooling, and even overclocks their board from the factory for added performance. To top if all off, the card ships with a nice game bundle. See how this card stacks up to the reference 6800 Ultra and ATI's X800 XT Platinum Edition with NVIDIA's new 61.77 driver in today's review! | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

I have this card, a Leadtek A400 Ultra TDH and the core speed is
400MHz/1.1 GHz for DDR3 memory.
Leadtek's Winfox does allow me to increase my core speed only by 2
unit increases. So I can only get 424 or 426 MHz on my core speed. I
have not done this because no where does Leadtek mention whether you
can do this and NOT void the warranty.
Also I was under the impression that the card would come by default
at the core speed of 425 MHz as this review mentions. I think the
review should have mentioned that FiringSqaud manually changed the
settings on the core memory when they did the review OR if Leadtek
actually gave them a Ultra card with the core speed of 425 MHz
already at that speed.
So for now my core speed is 400 MHz until I get a word from Leadtek
that I have their blessing to turn it up to 424 MHz, if 425 MHz is
not possible. Unfortunately their support@leadtek.com email does not
exist as their voice support recording mentions for their California
location in the States.
I would like to know how FiringSqaud got their card to 425 MHz, and
where Leadtek has it written that it will support their cards at
this setting since it supposed to be fine if you do.
I have not check out the other games on this bundle, have not had
time to do so.

Anyone with this card have problems with the bundled Splinter Cell?
When I installed mine it didn't even ask for a cd-key, then when
ever I start it up it says to insert the cd into the drive. =S Looks
like a shifty copy of the game to me.

Brandon, if the settings are on quality for default, I don't think
the optimizations would be turned on. They are only turned on when
set to performance I believe..

Yes, all of today's cards handle DVD playback, including your AIW
9600 PRO.

Sorry, that's a typo on my part. I cut and pasted the system setup
page from the ASUS X600 XT review and missed the update on the
NVIDIA driver and DX9. I've corrected both those sections to reflect
the use of 61.77 and DX9.0c (standalone, not the bundle that comes
with SP2 RC).
Optimizations are on for both cards, I leave the drivers for both at
their default settings.

On the main page it says "with NVIDIA's new 61.77 driver"
then on the test systems page it says "Driver version
61.45". Which is it?
Do the 61.45 drivers have sm3 support?

I'm getting sick and tired of seeing these reviews and in the test
settings there's no mention of whether Nvidia's optimizations are
turned on or off..
ATI has it's optimizations on by DEFAULT, so that's why it comes out
ahead when there's AF+AA applied.
If you turn on Nvidia's optimizations, it adds 20 >30% increase
in performance when you turn on AA+AF..
So, why the hell don't you turn on Nvidia's optimizations, or at the
very least, mention whether it's on or off?
