It's a good card, but with the vanilla 6800 selling for only $250,
it's hard to recommend a 6600GT.
Maybe when they drop under 200 bucks.

I was hoping that IL2 Forgotten Battles/PF would be represented in
the 6600GT AGP review, as it has in most of your previous reviews on
similar video cards. Could you please provide this as it is the only
reason I'm considering an upgrade from my Ti4200. Thanks

Yes, slower CPUs will be coming in the near future. As far as Pac
Fighters, yeah I was thinking of replacing IL2 with Pac Fighters, I
was just wondering if I should wait for the first patch (like I did
with LOMAC when it was first released) or not. It will definitely be
incorporated though...

Good article. Could you also post your test result in Il-2 Sturmovik
or its successor Pacific Fighters. Thanks.

Seem's my GF4 can finally be used up in the 1.2 Celery and the last
video upgrade solution for the Barton will be a 6600GT or an X700.
(I would get a 6800 vanilla since it is as cheap as the 6600, but
cant use it in my computer case)
Good article, and can't wait for an update when the x700 is
available in AGP flavor as well.

How about looking at the performance of this card on an athlon
system that a lot of current users have.. ie mobile athlons clocked
around 2.4-2.5GHz.
My GF3 ti200 just doesn't cut it anymore.. its been ok since all
i've been playing is cs.. but with d3 and hl2 out i gotta get
something new... but i don't want to upgrade my cpu/motherboard to
get pci express.. tho sli is appealing.. i just don't have anywhere
near enough money.

Why no review of the plain 6600? That's the card that people have
actually been able to purchase for the last week. 6600GTs are still
to be see.

Excellent. I've been wanting to upgrade my poor 9600XT to one of
these to put in my SFF system for some time. I still don't
understand though, if NVidia is using the same 2.0 ns memory as the
PCI-e, why would they clock it down 50MHz? Stability issues b/c of
the bridge chip? Hopefully a BIOS mod will come out so we don't
have to mess with stupid overclocking utilities.
