| | (Post a comment) » PowerColor RADEON X800 Bravo Edition ReviewATI's RADEON X800 VPU has been highly anticipated by gamers and hardware enthusiasts ever since it was introduced at the end of last year. The chip combines a 12-pixel pipeline architecture with high clock speeds and a 256-bit memory interface. But PowerColor takes the stock RADEON X800 to another performance level with their X800 Bravo Edition board. The card features 1.6ns GDDR3 memory, allowing PowerColor to supercharge the clock speeds to levels that are higher than stock. PowerColor rounds the package out with dual DVIs, VIVO, and better cooling. See how this board compares to the stock X800, the RADEON X800 XL, X700/X800 PRO, GeForce 6800 and 6800 GT as well as the GeForce 6600 GT in this review! | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

I have looked at the specs for this card at a few retailers and the
ones that list the memory used state that it's 2.0ns. Is this
another mix-up?

That connector is for analog video capture and is common on many
boards sold in Europe, where you'll run a cable to the composite
video connector on the front of your case.

In your article, on the top of the board, is a white plastic, I
believe 4 pin connector. I helped a friend install this board and
we never did figure out what that was for. Any help? Thanks in
advance.

#11: Yes, you'll see that in the roundups we do. I think the reason
it's rarely done in general though is because many card's fans run
below 30 decibels, making accurate readings impossible unless you
have really expensive instrumentation.
#12: Well, I included a picture of the box in the review, the front
of the box clearly states "Bravo Edition". So I'd suggest before
buying that you confirm with your retailer of choice that the box
says Bravo on the front. I think the reason everyone states "350MHz
RAM" is because they're all going with the standard X800 clocks.
Even the press info sheet that came with the board stated "350MHz",
but ATITool and Powerstrip detected the board as running at 500MHz
RAM.
