Why? Do you always make broad generalizations with no support? PCI
express offers no performance advantage over AGP and likely won't
for another 5 years or so. There still isn't a game on the market
that saturates AGP4x much less 8X. You still pay a premium for PCI
Express boards and video cards compared to AGP so if anything you
got it backwards.

I don't have brand loyality to Nvidia, it is just that I have been
burnt by ATI twice before on crappy cards and drivers and I'll be
dammed if I let those a-holes get the best of me a 3rd time. Anyone
who every bought an AIW 8500DV will likely feel the same way I do.
ATI is a joke, just not a funny one. Stupid f-ing canucks.

Well, the 'junk mail' that we send out are usually contests stuff,
article and news updates. And they're not really 'junk' anyway,
since you can opt to subscribe and unsubscribe til the sun goes
down. If you are receiving daily emails from us, it is because you

Personally I see little point in brand loyality where big companies
are concerned, in their eyes business is business. I'll continue to
go where the power/performance sweet spot is. I've done this with
Intel/Amd and will move over to Nvidia for my next card. I buy the
best that I cab afford.
Steve.

Sigh. Another waste of an article/interview here at FiringSquad. The
standards of this website has gone down considerably. When will the
editors here get a clue?

If you're going to invest in a good gfx card, then you would stupid
to do that on a AGP based mobo.

Way to flush all the credibility you earned with the 9700/9800
series down the toilet ATI. The 9800 pro I own will be the last ATI
card I own with an ATI chip. After waiting about 6 monthes for
compusa or bestbuy to get a X800XT Platinum in stock I went ahead
and bought a 6800GT. I'm not getting the X800pro because everbody
knows it sucks with only 12 pipes and I'm not paying $700-$800
online for a X800XT or and X850XT. F.U.C.K. you ATI.

If I gave the interview to him, I would have chunked the tape in the
trash, what a waste of time for both sides to sit down and sidestep
every question firingsquad threw at him.
I get more out of watching CSPAN

The X850 line, and the X800XT might as well not even exist because
of their prices. Same with the 6800 Ultra (until recently).

ATI really needs to get their act together. The X800 and X800XL are
poised to be great cards, but neither of them seem to have hit the
market yet with more than a trickle or cards.
If they don't get those two cards on the market in large quantities
very quickly, they're going to take a terrific beating, and also
taint their reputation. They have nobody to blame by themselves.
If the cards aren't ready, don't paperlaunch them.
