 Tiger Woods Out...Until August!

| | (Post a comment) » PS3 unveiling May 16Though the Register is also under the assumption that the Xbox 2 will be shown May 16 as well, rather than May 12 as reported in the story below.
As they are on the Xbox 2 front. A memo alleged to have leaked out of games publisher Electronic Arts earlier this year pointed to a late 2005 release date for Microsoft's next console, codenamed 'Xenon'. Next month's launch notwithstanding, PS3 isn't expected to ship until Q1/Q2 2006, so Microsoft could very well want to get in ahead of its rival will a release targeting the Christmas 2005 sales season. Comment made by other industry players, including Nintendo, suggests the business believes Microsoft will try to get in early.
Having not taken the chance to launch Xbox 2 at January's Consumer Electronics Show or February's Game Developer's Conference, Microsoft has to be eyeing upcoming major games industry events of which E3 is by far the biggest and most important. | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

Both Systems will produce far better graphics than any
"current" PC. This is simply because Microsoft are
implementing technology that has yet to be releasd for Pc,so you
WILL be able to match and eventually better the Xbox 360 by
upgrading your ENTIRE system. However, PS3 uses technology that will
never likely make it into a PC as it is designed exclusively for the
creation of video games. In this case your PC will always lag behind
(Given a 5-6 year console life-cycle).

Many of you sure are speculating heavily on the capabilities of the
cell and XBOX2 processors. Both are IBM Power based CPUs and I do
love the architecture of these designs but quite simply all we've
seen are basic specs. It's easy to boast about peak INT/FLOP
performance but it's practically useless when determining the
sustained power of a system. Lets see some game demos first.
In the case of XBOX2 the improvements going into the OS/DirectX will
benefit PCs as well. Everything will be multithreaded and AMD dual
core CPUs will already be shipping to take advantage of that. Quad
core system will be quite affordable by the time XBOX2 ships so the
FPU power will be there in abundance.

I have to agree. You're an idiot for even making statements like
that.
I can't think of a single person who buys a console thinking it will
do any of things you were rambling about....
"Can a console Burn an exact copy of DVDs, NO! Can a Console
let me make business cards or flyers or correct old photos or talk
to others thru Yahoo or AOl or ICQ at the same time. NOOOOO They
cant. I own a Xbox and have had all the systems to now. I started
with Pong in 1977. I may just buy a Xbox 2 just cause i can but it
wont compare to my High End PC no matter what! Period!"
Where has anyone even given the slightest inkling that consoles are
used for the things you mentioned? ANYONE and EVERYONE knows that
for the things you mentioned a PC (or MAC) is the product for it.
It's what it was built for and what's it's evolved into. A multi
purpose device we use on a daily basis. It's impossible to imagine
our lives without it (well for me anyway).
I won't get into the PC/Console debate because I think it's pretty
silly. I see nothing wrong with gaming on either platform. Each has
it's strengths (and like it or not the M/KB combo is extremely
effective. I have yet to find a console counterpart that is a
accurate and efficient, but that's my two cents).
I have a decent PC - A64 3200+, 1GB OCZ PC3200, 160GB Raid 0, 80GB
backup, CDRW/DVD, ATI 9500 (used to be an FX5900se), so it's a
pretty decent gaming rig. I will be buying a PSP (I am very
interested in the multimedia capablities as well as the gaming
aspect of it), and may be buying another Xbox or PS2 (I have gone
through several buying/selling phases) if the mood strikes me in the
near fut

Well no shiat sherlock. Can your computer get me to my job, No well
my car can. Can your computer help me get rid of my waste, no my
toilet can. Can your computer help satisfy me, no my microwave can.
We know what consoles can and can't do. If you even think people
buy consoles to burn dvd's, business cards, write reports, or
whatever else you claim your computer can do go shoot yourself.
