What is going to matter isn't the hardware but the games. Both
Microsoft and Sony have shown off great hardware, but only Microsoft
has shown a list of great games coming to their platform.
Sony is going to be eaten alive by Microsoft's lineup.

"Gears of War looked as good as UT2007 (it should it
is the same engine!"
And that is just the begininig, gonna take around 3 years to max the
360, possibly longer for PS3 with the Cell.

On IGN they announced that the R500 / Xenos is 332M transistors.
232M for the Shader logic, 100M for the eDRAM and the associated
logic for alpha, stencil, etc...
The chip sounds impressive. SM 3.0+ (higher order surfaces, infinite
shader code length), unified shaders, free 2x AA and a small 1-5%
penalty for 4x AA in rop/Bandwidth limited scenarios.
And it works with VGA. If it will letterbox on my LCD (native res
1280x1024) to 720p I am pretty much sold IF it has a couple decent
launch titles. Gears of War looked as good as UT2007 (it should it
is the same engine!), and if PDZ and PGR3 look as good when they
release then sweet!

IF read better u realise they said 10 mb edram basically that is 10
mb on the chip itself if compraed to cpu. u could say the equivalent
of the L2 cache. The main memory if 512 of 700 mhz gddr 3 which is
shared between the cpu and gpu

nVidia mentioned their RX chip in the PS3 is equivalent to 2 Geforce
6800 Ultras. So how does an ATI R500 Xbox 360 GPU compare to say am
X800 graphics card?
