this is an awful review in so many ways... first, its nowhere near a
comprehensive review of all the available flash media out there, and
they openly admit that they are leaving out the Sandisk Ultra II and
Extreme III cards which are the faster cards out on the market.
second, some of the graphs just don't make any sense - the legend
and axes labels are too ambiguous (why are lexas and sandisk the
same color?). third, the graphs are just sloppily written. half of
the graphs have their borders cut out, the scales are inconsistent
from graph to graph, and the text is too small to read in many.
finally, as some have pointed out, flash memory has nothing to do
with gaming...
those who are concerned with digital cameras and related topic would
get their reviews from more reliable and experienced sources such
dpreview.com or heck even cnet.
this review should just be pulled, if not for its content, then for
its simply bad presentation.

Firingsquad is going in the crapper. Isn't this place supposed to be
about games and gaming hardware? What the hell do compace flash
cards have to do with gaming hardware? I can sort of see the
relevance of these eternal battle articles, but that's already a
stretch. This article, however, has no business being posted on a
site that says "Home of the Hardcore Gamer" on the main
banner. Thresh would be embarassed that his once proud site is being
run by fruits.

Or really any camera over 5 megapixels, SLR or not.
If you do video or continuous drive shots, it's a necessity. My
Sony DSC-F828 needs high speed flash in order to maintain 30fps when
doing video.
Flash speed is exceptionally important when you take 3+ pictures at
a time.

Reply to This Who in their right mind still uses CF cards? They're
ginormous, and
most devices seem to have shifted to SD cards anyway.

I have also seem not much performance difference on Digital Cameras
between IBM Microdrives, Kingston CF, Elite Pro CF, Lexar Ultra II.
So I just go off what is the best price, and people have had the
fewest problems with.

They may be huge, but they have bigger capacities than CF.
