 Tiger Woods Out...Until August!

| | (Post a comment) » EVGA e-GeForce 7800 GTX ReviewWhile the GeForce 7800 GTX was only introduced a few weeks ago, retail boards can already be found on store shelves. In today's review we're taking a look at one of the first boards to hit the market, EVGA's e-GeForce 7800 GTX. EVGA takes a regular GeForce 7800 GTX with dual DVI and HDTV output with VIVO support and spices things up a bit by overclocking the board's graphics core by default. See how much faster the board runs as a result in this review! | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

This review looks like its straight out of a press release. No cons
at all to this card? This article is nothing but hype. The card is
nice, yeah we know, thats why it costs $599. How much will this card
be in a year? Not one single word about compatibility issues. It
appears as though all a company has to do is pay this site to post a
fantastic review about their product, no matter what.
I give the card an B+, For what it is, its overproced.
I give this review a C+, Needs improvement.

I wish I knew of the Dell offer, I paid the full $600 for my two
eVGA 7800GTXs. No game will be beyond playable framerates with my
1280x1024 monitor.

2048x1536 and yes games are playable at this setting with my Eizo
T766 19in CRT.
Also to #9 - "I do have to say, in HL2, the difference between
the 7800 and x80PE isn't that big. Not the revolutionary jump I was
hioing for."
Try running HL2 at 2048x1536 with 4xAA and 8xAF; the difference is
night and day or slideshow vs. fluid graphics if you prefer.

Yeah I got in on the 7800 gtx from dell for $460. 2 wks is when it
will ship supposedly. I mainly buying it for bf2. But if a low end
amd 64 cpu will be too much of a bottleneck then I won't bother and
I'll stick to the x800 xt.

Very soon, it takes awhile to run those tests as I'm sure you can
imagine.

The review needed more info on the image quality of this card.
Speed is nice, but if it don't look good, why play it?
And, what's with the 2000x1500 res? Does anyone really play games
at this res? Didn't think so. I personally would rather play at
1024x768 all day to make the image look better at a good speed with
all the FSAA and filtering turned on full. Much easier to watch and
enjoy a game that allows that.
