I have that exact card. It is okay, RAM good, gpu kinda cheap. I
have a P4 2.4ghz w/ 1GB ram, in BF2 most setting are set to low
except texture & geometry (medium) view distance is 100%,
1280x960 is my resolution. At times it gets a little choppy, but is
playable 99% of the time.

definitely the Hard Drive issue EVERYONE!!! You all may seem to
have fast screaming system but with a serious choking bottle neck.
Your hard drives are too slow! Anyone here try to RAID their hard
drivessss, maybe 4 or 8???. You WILL BE PLEASE... trust me on
this.
My comp spec: AMD Athlon XP 3200|2G Corsair XMS PC3400 400MHz dual
channel|6600GT Geforce 256MB DDR3 AGP|HighPoint RocketRAID 1820A
64bit|Four 250GB WD Caviar RE raid 0.
On Battlefield 2, my video settings are all on Hi. I get very
smooth game play, beautiful details(including in game details such
as reflection on glass object and vivid color display). At this
point life is good....

BF2 is just a poorly coded game, I can't run it at any resolution,
and it’s so choppy it's unplayable. The game clearly has the ability
to run fast on my PC, and it does in spurts, but for the most part
it's extremely choppy. I run the game at 1280x1024x32 with 2X AA
enabled and I get a maximum of around 80 FPS, but this is only for a
few seconds, the rest is around 1-5 FPS.
My specs are as follows:
P4 3.2E Prescott at 4.0 GHz
ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe
2 GB Kingston Hyper-X 600 MHz Dual Channel DDR
BFG Geforce 6600 GT OC 128MB (600 MHz / 1200 MHz)
SB Audigy Gamer
