Card is popular as fantasy material for the teens{substitue for
other stuff on web}.....but knowledgeable fans choose ATI in nearly
every segment, ie, they buy ATI, they buy GTO2, GTO 16 pipe and now
the king, 1900XT{value champ}.

Now who would have guessed that "overclocking" the G70 to
550Mhz (vs 430Mhz), and using DDR1700 memory instead of DDR1200,
would drastically increase average frame-per-second benchmark
scores? Furthermore, with texel rate 30% higher than X1800XT, and
over 6GB/s more mem bandwidth, who would dare say they were
surprised that the 512MB GTX come out on top over the X1800XT?
However, although ATI could just as easily use the same or even
faster GDDR3 memory chips, to match the texel rate, they would need
to clock their GPU 30% higher = 812Mhz... not very feasable. Thus,
to reiterate what many have stated, ATI's hope lies in R580.
Regardless who is on top, new products and competition is a good
thing - just a few years ago people had to make compromises when
buying mainstream cards (no latest features, have to turn down game
quality settings): now top to bottom all cards are SM3.. and even
lowly 6600's offer great gaming performance at 1024x768, with all
game features on.

the ultimate clock speeds and memory on this card, the ps3 tech is
already looking out of date and it isn't even out yet.
