Got a G5 hated the middle button not depressing right, plus the loss
of a button and thankfully buy.com gave me my money back. tee hee.
I then saw the diamondback on sale at newegg for 44. I am po and
don't want to spend 80 on the copperhead. The diamondback suits me
and my staples hard plastic mousepad just fine. It is a helleva
nice mouse. Fits my hand a lot better than the G5, but that is up
to your preference I guess. Diamondback is about the same as the
copperhead and if I had a lotta loot lying around probably buy the
copperhead. The side buttons on the diamondback/copperhead are
easily usable if you work on it a little bit. But all around a
great upgrade from my workhorse logitech 310!

You'll have to pry my boomslangs from my cold, dead, hands. I
bought 10 of them when razer said they were "going out of
business" and would no longer make any more. My only regret is
that I didn't buy more of them. They last for about 6 months of
intensive gaming. I would kill for a laser mouse that had the same
shape/feeling/weight/software of the boomslang. Why is razer trying
to emulate the shape of a 1st gen logitech led mouse? That's just
awful.
And what the heck is the big deal about cordless mice? The only
thing it brings to the table is the potential for lag and
interference. Paying extra for a cordless mouse used for gaming, is
like spending money on a huge spoiler on your honda civic that only
has 100HP anyway. All show, and no go.

I got the G5 it is going richt back though. Very smooth mouse, I
got better I believe in games, nice grippy surface texture. On the
bad side they took away a button. What idiot at logitech thought
this was a good idea. I want MORE buttons not less!! If you are
extremely %&@&&% you can disable the extra buttons in the software
or just disable them in games. I don't like the palm type mouses
but the G5 is feels a lot better than the mx700 due to it being nice
and light (has nice weights to make it heavier). But the reason I
send that F'er back is the middle mouse button needs a LOT of
pressure to get it to register. I press it and I get click that it
is depressed but no you actually have to press it REALLY hard to
register. I need to click 2-3 times to get it down. This makes it
horrible to reload weapons in games. Firefox's tabbed browsing
becomes a horror story with this thing. Well I like my MX310 and
will probably be getting a copperhead just wish they weren't almost
twice as much as the g5...

I bought a Copperhead earlier this year and had a few issues with
it. Fortunately all of my issues were resolved within a few weeks
with their firmware updates and now I have no complaints at all.
Except that it wont work very good in Quake 4, but that seems to be
a Raven issue...

is this a laser mouse? led mouse? ball mouse? I didn't see that in
the article. Does it work on glass surfaces? any surface?

I don't have much faith in Razer. As others have mentioned, they
don't seem to last very long. I tried a Diamondback and it broke in
two months. Since I couldn't get my money back I did an even
exchange and the second one broke in about two months as well (same
thing broke both times, the left mouse button). Since I didn't want
to pay to ship it back yet again I got nothing for my money and am
back using my really old Logitech mouse.

G5 and Copperhead sensors are identical. It's a matter of
preference in terms of the shape. Personally, I prefer the
Copperhead.

Second the motion on this one. Let's see some real head-to-head
comparison of like products. I just got a G5 and, so far, am really
liking it.
I don't buy anything but Logitech anymore due to reliability issues.
The reports I have read on Razor have not imbued me with
confidence. I have personal very bad experience with M$ products.
