Dispict its shortcomings, the Xbox 360 will inevitable blow Play
Station 3 away. People complain about the Xbox 360 because their
expections for games are so high, that the system recieved a lot of
critism and people believe the PS3 will meet those expectations.
THis is a load of !!!!! Microsoft is king!
HAHAHAHAHAHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

To add to previous refutations:
Mistake #2: No MSN Music
Not an oversight IMO:
- How many folks are going to purchase music online on their TV?
- 20GB drive is too small anyway.
- No way to transfer purchased music to other devies.
A PC is much better at the above, and the XB360 is much better as a
MCE.
Mistake #3: No HDMI support
This could be a good tradeoff. Not many current TVs have HDMI
inputs, and perhaps such support can be added in the future.
Mistake #5: Microtransaction Security
In most ways, this is no different than your PC. If your XB360 is
going to be used by others, don't link your credit card to it.

I agree. The XBOX360 is a gaming console and does it outstandingly
well. However, it sounds like the author was expecting a media
center instead.

This article is one of the most retarted articles i have ever read.
true some of the things make sense but on most cases only to the
writer.... quite frankly i have no use for a browser on my 360, no
use for music like itunes on the 360, no use for 1080p since only
about 1% of the tv's out there can even do that, and also never had
my system crash on me... i think most people who have had system
crashes should learn how to put the powerbrick in a ventilated
place. anyway poor article and very fanboyish. Alan should go back
to school on how to be a journalist.

Not a very useful article. A few of the gripes jump out as being
more fanboyish than others:
I've had mine since launch with no heat issues at all. And while
some have, to claim that the margin for error is so tight that they
will start dropping like flies in the summer is just absurd.
The ability to produce 1080p would be worthless to most of the
population. Not many TV's out there that support it and even if they
did 1080i and 720p certainly look incredible without the added
expense of a 1080p TV.
Lack of pressure sensitive buttons are an issue? They took it out
because hardly anyone used them on the original XBox and the
required result (short tap causes one thing, long tap another...like
throwing a bullet pass or lob in a football game for example)can be
easily done in the SOFTWARE...
I'm not sure any of your gripes are all that legitimate...but the
nit-picky attempt to stretch it out to 11 is just stupid...

Alan's a closet Sony Fanboy. This article will draw Sony Fanboys
like stink on @#$!. I should have bought him some cheese whith all
that whining.
My 360 has never over heated and I live in Arizona. Second, who
cares about 1080p support. 90% of consumers will not be able to
afford a 1080p tv any time soon so what is the point?
The console has only been out a short time and for the most part
only die hard gamers have it. So that means that the average video
game fan doesn't have it in their prossesion yet. So.... why would
they need to get out an update to fix some of those minor things???
MS will fix some of this stuff. The 360 is one hell of a gaming
machine no matter how you slice it. The games look incredible for
only first gen and I can't with for second.

Agree 100%. The big thing is that 480i sent as 480p HDMI means that
no deinterlacing gets performed. Therefore, the only people who
want 480i HDMI are people with ultra-high end external video
processors, which fortunately are designed to support "480i
HDMI." It's one of those "the products that need to
support 480i over HDMI do" scenarios.

I have been playing my system for over a week now and have had no
problems. My longest playing time was 11 hours. I have not had the
sound problems (really loud system, mine is very quiet) nor have I
had any lockups. BTW, my born on date is 11-27-05. I really believe
there are a lot of people not giving the system enough air
circulation. I really believe that there are defective systems, but
not the amount that people claim. I know for a fact that every new
system that comes out have problems ( I bought launch PS2 and PSP).
