(Post a comment) » Seven Things That the Xbox 360 Does Better Than Anyone ElseLast time, I went over 11 things I thought Microsoft could do better with the Xbox 360. While the article very well read, there was plenty of feedback asking us why we were "Microsoft haters." That's far from the truth. As I mentioned in the article, the enemy of good is better and for that article, I asked myself: "Can I come up with a list of things that Microsoft could have done better?" It was supposed to be a negative article but to provide constructive feedback. Well, as I mentioned before, the Xbox 360 does A LOT of things very well, so without further ado, here are 7 Things that the Xbox 360 Does Better Than Anyone Else. | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

Quote: The problem is that consoles will remain cutting edge for
probably
6 months to a year before PC components begin to totally outclass
them in every aspect. There is nothing that consoles can do about
this because PC components will be constanting improving. When this
happens console games will become visually inferior to their PC
counterparts.
You're defending the Pc to a point that is ridiculous. Any developer
is getting their main practice with multi core and unified graphic
architectures THANKS to console gaming. With this development
practice, they can overlay this experience to PC gaming creating a
much more robust gaming experience on advanced hardware. In a way
this is forcing developers to learn something new and apply it to
evolving hardware. A good example of this is how all current title
games on 360 are not utilizing 100% efficiency on the unit.
Developers wwere jetset and used to their ways with PC style coding
and unilateral hardware. The new systems are giving the developers a
little room to stretch their legs and get things up to speed, learn
new things. It's common sense, and it makes very good sense.
Consoles Detrimental to PC gaming? Count your blessings that there
are consoles out there if your a hardcore gamer. The consoles are
the ones that keep us PC players happy. Generic ports are made by
developers who are out to make a quick buck, capitalize on the
success of a title. Do not patronize the companies that do pput time
and resources into creating unique gaming experiences on whatever
platform (ie: Ubisoft, EA and Activision [to name a common few])

There's only one online gaming service that covers all the games of
an entire platform and that's Xbox Live. It's just too bad Microsoft
couldn't offer an hour or two of free online-gaming a month for Xbox
Silver owners…
im sorry.. but you are wrong there.
Xbox LIVE offers all Silver members FREE Weekend online gameing. for
48 hrs a week.. every weekend.

Most families probably already own a PC of some sort. Most are
most probably not powerhouse gaming machines but still can play most
PC games (with huge graphical concessions). I will admit that only
experienced PC users can get the most out of their games (patches,
updates, troubleshooting etc).
PC gaming is not the easiest or the most user friendly. However
for your average family to get some decent gaming on a PC all they
need to do is plonk in a decent $200 graphics card and the family PC
becomes a very capable gaming PC. Although your average consumer
will more then likely opt for the easier and 'cheaper' alternative
for their gaming fix - ie consoles.

have been a more accurate title?

Silly, I need to mention this. To everyone saying PC gaming is the
way to go. It would not have gotten anywhere without the funding
generated by mass consoles. Not everyone can afford a gaming PC but
most families can dump 200 on a gaming system and purchase tites,
which provide money for innovation and better games, thus enhancing
both the PC and console gaming market. The new breed of consoles is
giving developers more practice with multi-core systems, and from
that experience, the PC games get better. When companies started
focusing more on PC that console (right at the end of the life cycle
of the 16bit systems) many many many companies shut down due to not
enuf market sales, PC gamins market was not and is still not large
enough to support them. I don't know why most people are so close
minded to it, but in the end of it all, it's us the gamer that walks
away benefited. I'm actually quite thrilled to have spent 500
dollars on a 360 instead of the new X1800Xt that I want and still
get to play FUN games and techinically, get a new computer too. For
those caught up on Graphics and Frames/second - > it's all bull.
No added value running at 60fps or 120. Just marketing to fanboys.

"Until the PS3 is released, HD gaming is still something that
the Xbox 360 does better than any other system." - Your whole
article is true in that way! Xbox 360 is the first Next-Gen console
to launch, so OF COURSE it does things better than its rivals! Wait
til the PS3 and Revolution launch and THEN write an article like
this.
