You're OBVIOUSLY not a proper fan PC gaming, as a true fan would be
over the moon about the new 1900XT....the best value/powerful card
that exists.
Learn to go to work rather than hate high end gear ok.

i rum all my games fine on a 2.8c and a 9800pro. only game to really
chug was call of duty 2, but putting it in dx7 mode runs 100% great,
and doesn't detract from the game at all. and this is a 2+ year old
system.
last year i thought that this year was going to be the upgrade
point. but the further i look into the games that are going to be
released, the more i postpone my upgrade until the so called game
that would make me want to upgrade comes around. so far only ut2k7
is making me ponder this decision. but with dx10 cards on the
horizon... it just makes me want to wait more. SLI and the concept
of add another card and go in the future is looking pretty great as
well.
*mmmm... ebay is your friend. and the master card idea is #!$%!@!#
i wish there was a way to sli 2 different gfx cards... a 6800gs with
a 6800gt or even a future 7600... 7800gt with a 7800gtx etc... that
would just increase the consumption of nvidia gfx card imo.
i thought 300+ cards were too much back in the days of the 9700 and
the ti4600... now with 600+ cards.... oy... makes my head hurt.

Wha? You'd be in for a monster treat if you moved up to a 6800GS for
sub 200. Or maybe an X2/Opty with the 7800GT for 600?

can't believe that xbox 360 card has already turned last generation
since the x1900xtx came out. still, long live the 9800 pro and XP.

nice point but remember this rule when it comes down to console and
pc and that is developers tend to use more potential out of the
console than they do with pc and also bringing that edram into play
it practically gives aa for free if you think about it so even
though this might be more powerful than the xenos it might not be
used to its full potential like the xenos so when do you know it
another gpu comes out that is obviously better than xenos and r580
in a couple of months and we may never really know which is better
the xenos or r580.

Well from a pure technology standpoint Xenos' unified shaders put it
ahead of R580, although at the same time Xenos isn't exactly
WGF-compliant either, so I wouldn't call it a full generation ahead
of R580, a better way to put it would be that Xenos has a more
flexible shader structure. Xenos' eDRAM is clearly meant for the
console, I don't think it would translate well over to the PC.
R580's clearly got more shading horsepower. You've got more shaders
on R580 that are also running at a higher clock speed than Xenos.
It's because of this that I think with the games that are out there
today that R580 would outperform Xenos if there were some way you
could benchmark the two.
