| | (Post a comment) » Matrox TripleHead2Go PreviewWhat if you could connect three monitors to your GeForce or Radeon-equipped system for a wider field-of-view in games -- would you be interested? Hardware enthusiasts may recall this technology was first demonstrated over three years ago in the Matrox Parhelia. Well today Matrox brings TripleHead support to practically anyone with a laptop or PC with their TripleHead2Go module. See how it works and how much it will cost in today's article! | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

Bah. How impractical and limited. I'd rather get a large 1080p
display over this.

Yeah, I'm sure chopping one VGA signal into three portions and
outputing them independantly is a trivial matter. Things like
keeping them in sync and minimizing lag should be a piece of cake.

I suppose if you had a dual-head card (or two cards) that could
drive two of these huge virtual displays you could do six.
Some games, I think MS Flight Sim is one of them, have properly
supported multi monitors for a long time, so this really wouldn't be
needed for those. I know there's pictures out there of some guy's
setup with like ten monitors showing flight sim.
Most games don't though, so you need to fool them into thinking
you're only using one monitor. Dual-head cards can do this, but
Matrox has been the only one to do it with three so far.

I wonder if two TripleHead2Gos will give you one SixHead2Go???
Imagine six monitors surrounding you instead of just three... :)

This thing would rock if it works with no hassle.
Are they actually showing 3x the view or are they just stretching
the image across 3 screens?

If this works as advertised, I'll be all over it. Already got the
three monitor setup, just have never been able to properly utilize
it with games. The border between monitors is not a problem with
three, only with two monitors when the border is right in the middle
of your view!
Finally, a reason to spend the cash on SLI.
