Today NVIDIA's introducing the GeForce 7600 GT, the chip features a 560MHz graphics core and 700MHz memory. But how does it perform and overclock? Well if you thought last year's GeForce 6800 GS was a nice card, you ain't seen nothing yet! | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

I've managed to buy my EVGA 7600GT CO factory overclocked (580 on
core, 750 on memory versus 560 and 700) for about $175 AR. This was
the week of release btw. I can OC this card to 600/800 speeds no
problem with the stock cooling. I could probably push it a bit more
if I wanted to.
I truly enjoy the 7600GT because it's a good value. Ultra small, has
dual DVI's, no external power connecter required, and awesome DVD
playback. Also the cooler doesn't take up two slots either. If it's
true that the x1800GTO is going to be priced at $250, I don't see
much value in it. If it was priced at $200 MRSP like the 7600GT,
then it'll be a good match between the two.

It would decimate them easily. Even the 6600GT scares the X800GT
into submission. It's a simple case of a better design, and SM 3.0
support.

any idea how the 7600 would stack up against an older X800 GT - 128
MB?

no.26 again Bigsized that comment wasnt' directed to you, it was for
like those folks who think I'm like a fanboy of some sorts.
The thing is all I want is a better bang for the buck.
And honestly 5-8 FPS doesn't make a difference to me.
I'd rather know that I spent my money on something worth.

no.9 here again...
BsizedGoanna you Aussie mate? thats cool.
OK back to this thing you are telling me the 7600GT is like cheaper
but which crap brands do you get I mean like come on if you are
going to buy a card it should last you a while and should have some
OC potential!? so you will get that BFG 7600GT OC which is $250 and
lifetime warranty.
And this powercolor X1800GTO is costing the same and it has more
features...read the article again and see it it 2 dual DVI links and
256 bit memory interface.
All in all still I think X1800GTO is the better buy.
And I am no fanboy and nor does ATi pay me anything. I am an avid
hardware enthusiast too bad I stay in India and things over here are
over priced like $# and not available most of the time.
So when I was on my trip to US in November'04 I got a 6800 AGP of
BFG brand. 128 MB memory 256-bit. for $325 incl. of all taxes from
Fry's. And like after a month Nvidia releases the 6600GT for like
$250. Yeah $50 is a big deal for me coz 1$ = Rs.50 over here.
I really way laying my hands on the 9800Pro which was for $185 at
that time but new technology excited me and I had the $$$ so I got
the 6800 and I got ripped off.
And over here now you get that 6600GT for like Rs.11,000 for a good
brand like XFX but XFX is $# I think so I told my mate to get The
Gainward one it was a nice OC'er and was like for Rs.10,500.
And ATi cards over here are like expensive as $#! Coz still the
9800Pro retails for about Rs.10,000 over here.
That's ATi's fault for bad marketing not finding any more board
partners and nice dealers for Indian market etc.
Other thing that I use this X300SE card

After taking a look at your 'profile' and the URL contained within,
i have come to the simple conclusion that you must have a fairly low
IQ, or you're some strange anti-jewish &$$& who thinks he knows
everything.
IMO, you trolling these boards is a bad thing - stick to your little
nazi forums and stop pestering normal people.

I would have liked to see some tests with AA/AF in FEAR and COD2
(maybe 2/4).
You might not have playable framerates at some of the higher
resolutions, but it would've been good for comparing the different
memory interfaces of these two cards.
I personally can't play anything without at least some AA.

So its a personal trolling "crusade" ( It doesnt helps
your case when you use words worthy of a fundamentalist nut by the
way ). Thats all I needed to know.
Anyway I cant see what is the problem with nvidia releasing products
closer in performance to ATI, they can name the price they want if
ATI comes up with something better they will have to lower the price
to sell.
You can point your finger all you want at Nvidia but by taking the
comparition you bring, AMD managed the upper hand on Intel because
of their aggresive pricing/technology ratio. If you have so much
faith in ATI wait for them to do the same. If they cant then its
their loss, literally, so why bother defending either side?
Or what you think ATI wouldnt strongarm the market to get their
prices up if they were a monopoly or had a head start on Nvidia?
They're a bussiness too last time I checked and thats what they do.
