| | (Post a comment) » Dell Sells Out Of Quad-SLI XPS 600 Renegade PCsIf you go to the Dell web site for their XPS 600 Renegade PCs you will see that particular system is already sold out, dispite going on sale only a week ago and having a steep price of over $9,000. The XPS 600 Renegade was first announced last January at CES by Dell as being a limited edition gaming PC with an NVIDIA Quad-SLI graphics set up. Last week Dell announced the Renegade would also include the AGEIA PhysX physics card as well. FiringSquad chatted with a Dell spokesperson on the phone today about the sell out of the Renegade. Unfortuately he would not reveal how many of the systems Dell actually sold, saying it was always meant to be a limited edition collector's item, in part because of the custom paint scheme for the PC case. He did reveal that two Renegade systems would be given away by Dell in a sweepstakes starting April 10. And what about getting that Quad-SLI set up in other XPS systems, like Alienware and Falcon Northwest have done? The Dell spokesperson said that while the AGEIA physics card is also available in the regular XPS 600 and 400 models, there are no plans to introduce the Quad-SLI graphics set up in current Dell XPS systems. | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

I really wonder about what kind of rich freak wants a $9000 Dell
gaming pc with a poky cpu. But then again, even if it's INTEL, it's
probably still better the what you've got.
Can you hear that rich freak laughing right now?

Very true, The FX 60 oc'ed kills that P4 in that piece of junk metal
AKA the renegade. ALl the other boutique builders have Quad sli
systems with FX 60's and water cooling.

First of all only 30 of these pieces metal were made. Thats why they
sold so fast. Is nothing exclusive as over 10 boutique PC builders
Including Cyberpower, Alienware, Velocity Micro, Maingear, Voodoo
PC, have same/better Quad SLI PC's and offer Water cooling and FX
60's that are overclocked with their quad Sli Pc's. The prices start
at $5000 (Cyberpower) from other vendors and have better components
in terms of gaming benchmarks. FX 60 oc'ed. 2 gig ram, ASUS A8N32
boards, Water cooling, and every other accersory out there. Some of
these other vendors have better paint jobs than the dell system, are
smaller and are water cooled unlike the Renegade. Even If you buy
the 30 inch monitor seperatly the price will still be lower than the
Renegade package which is highly overpriced.

For people with too much money and not enough computer hardware
literacy. Although, people now have the option for a
"Dell" Alienware PC which should provide for some more
reasonable price/performance options (w/ an AMD processor).

All that raw gaming power, and they stick it with a Pentium 4.
(waits for Intel fanboys to start dishing out the insults).
