For the 4th consecutive year, the FiringSquad Industry Invitational at Computex will showcase the fastest gaming systems at Computex with the latest PC technology and coolest designs. As well, this year the world's most famous gamer will be attending: Jonathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel will challenge all comers in a shootout and sign autographs.

This year's event is being sponsored by Electronic Arts Taiwan, the Taipei Computer Association, Micro-Star International, Shuttle, Sapphire, Abit, Biostar, OCZ Technology, NVIDIA, Cooler Master and Thermaltake.

From cases to coolers, motherboards and VGAs, RAM and even power supplies, the hottest manufacturers in PC hardware will be feverishly tweaking and testing their competition systems, all trying to outdo each other and take home the trophy for the Ultimate Gaming Rig at Computex. This year's competition brings together some of the most legendary names in PC hardware technology: Abit, Albatron, AMD, AOpen, ASUS, Arctic Cooling, Biostar, CoolerMaster, Corsair, DFI, ELSA, Enermax, Gigabyte, Kingston , MSI, NVIDIA, PowerColor, Razer, Sapphire, Shuttle, SilverStone, Thermaltake, OCZ, XFX.

Last year's event was a huge success and was sponsored by EA, the TCA, AMD, Sapphire, Abit, Gigabyte, PowerColor OCZ, and Thermaltake. AMD took home the Ultimate Gaming Rig award, while Gigabyte ended up winning twice! Here's the complete 2006 winner list:

The Schedule:
3PM to 4:30PM: Game time and judging
      • EA will have a special team at the event to train all the participants in a Command and Conquer 3 tournament!

5PM to 6PM: Awards ceremony and key note speakers

Award Categories:
This year we will be handing out 7 awards. The categories are:

• The Ultimate Gaming Rig at Computex 2007
• Highest Overclock
• Best Video Performance
• Best CPU/motherboard Performance
• Best Visual Design
• Best Portable Design
• Best Low Noise Design

Notes:
a. FiringSquad will analyze each Ultimate Gaming Machine based on standard tests used in our reviews.
b. You may use any product that you wish. If you choose to include hardware that has not yet been released to the general public and is currently under NDA, then our review will not include any proprietary information and will only include the performance results that we measure. We request that you include written instructions that specify the information that you do not want us to include in our review.
c. For example, if you use a video card that has not been released to the general public, then let us know and we will exclude any information about that video card other than posting the performance numbers.
d. Keep in mind that each Ultimate Gaming Machine must be reliable enough to run continuously for at least one full day during the tournament. If your Ultimate Gaming Machine crashes more than once during the tournament portion of the program then your team will be disqualified from the tournament.
