Enter the world of Azeroth if you dare... for those daring few (rather, many... as in 9 million) may never return.
Why? World of Warcraft has some very addictive gameplay, and if you think about it then you will wonder "Why? Why is it addictive if it is hardly anything more than kill and complete menial tasks?" Its the feeling of accomplishment when all your hard work of constantly visiting the same dungeon and killing the same monsters has paid off when you receive your ultra-rare Elven Sword of [insert fancy name].
WoW gives you a lot of things to strive for, such as hitting level 60 (or 70 if you have the expansion), getting the best weapons and being successful in Player vs. Player combat. But unfortunately, once you hit that level, there is nothing more to do than to rinse and repeat.
Luckily, Blizzard Entertainment has in place multiple classes and races, each unique in their own way. There are also two major and playable opposing factions with their own quests and pros/cons allowing for a wide range of replayability for those who never tire.
WoW has some beautiful environments with a lot to see and do, and the cartoonish graphics will, of course, survive the test of time (and sometimes left me nostalgic for WoW when I started playing Lord of the Rings Online).
If you are a fan of MMORPGs or a fan of the Warcraft universe, WoW is the drug - sorry, game - for you. And even if you aren't, you should give the trial version a try. |
