There are way too many people b$%^#ing about the difficulty. My god, do you remember NES days with impossible games? Get over it. Ships do appear out of no where....but that's how every mission starts. You appear out of no where. The enemy can't? Heaven forbid that you /actually/ protect all of your units and not leave them floating in the middle of no where. All the complaining is really sad. No the single player wasn't ingenious, but it isn't bad.
