The last product from EA Pacific
Single Player Campaign is a joke
No Cut Scenes to speak of.
No story to speak of.
Ok I'm sure many of you multiplayer fans are not going to like this review, but hey we all have our opinions.
This game is an embarassment for EA...I would say westwood but they couldn't have had anything to do with this title. It has (EA multiplay all the way) all over it. And this destroyed the title. The single player campaign looks like it was tacked on as a last resort....the campaign if you can call it that is a series of easy misisons linked by.....oh yeah thats right its not linked by any story at all!! No cut scenes...no story...means no game for me. It was obviously developed primarily for multiplayer which is fine..I'm sure against other people its a blast...but then promote it as that and drop the single player all together....don't bother with a trite attempt at a campaign.
I guess may main gripe is that this game is not a Westwood RTS. It had an EA look and feel to it which is a crime for a series that really did hold up well during the years. They didn't need the C&C label there is really no reference to the games...so why bother...oh thats right we have to sell lots of games and just calling the game 'generals' would not get you the sales. The politics of game sales are really pulling down the quality of games as of late.
In any event...aside from being majorly disappointed because this is not a Command and Conquer game...I will say the factions do have a good balance between them...the gameplay in skirmish mode is solid and of course the graphics, music and sound are very good.
Bottom Line: As a multiplayer RTS its a solid effort as a Command and Conquer game its the pits..
