Well Age of Mythology definitly is a superb game with the only major drawback is its ESO match making service which isnt very good. Its still new so maybe the kinks will get worked out in future patches.
The population model makes it very tough to have multiple huge armies but I think that it was made like that so you the system requirements weren't too high. If you have anything less that a 1Ghz PIII or equivalent chances are the game will lag when you play 4 player games or more.
The game isn't a revolutionary step forward but it has enough new features and follows the standard rock, paper , scissors strategy format thats been use for so long quite effectively.
All in all a solid game
