Ah... CivSpace. All the goodness of Civilization wrapped up and plonked on Alpha Centauri. Though not really anything new, the whole purely sci-fi side of things draws in an entirely different crowd who aren't history buffs such as myself, and therefore don't enjoy playing any of the classic earth-bound civilizations.
Each faction is appealing, as each has its own advantages - the Spartans being militaristic - the Morganites money-freaks, etc. etc.
The ability to custom-build units of all shapes and sizes truly is appealing, though in the later stages of the game, with so much technology available, it can get confusing.
No real plot guides the game, as with Civilization, but one can still invest ridiculous ammounts of time in this one without even thinking about it.
