Vietnam is one of the coolest wars, and this game captures is like no other. The music is reason alone to buy it, its a major rush to let your Huey board-MG rip while Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries scream from your chopper.
The choppers are great fun and the ability to pick up tanks etc. really add to the gameplay. Another big pro is the lush green which really adds dept to both gameplay and experience.

The game requires a lot of heavy computer muscle, which is always a downer.
There are also the bugs mentioned, lag and performance issues but I also noticed some slight bugs when it comes to the music, somethimes you hear a fragment of a song real loud, only to hear that song from a chopper flying accross seconds later. Weird.
I also found my aim a bit sluggish, and the weapon switch menu a bit crap. Also the M60+LAW loud-out is heavily overpowered. When I was showing the game to a friend of mine he asked me why you can choose to either carry all-light weapons or all-heavy weapons without any differance in mobility. I'd like to see DICE answer that one.

An all-round fun game, perhaps not such an attractive buy for BF42 players but those who don't own the original this is a good one.
I'm really enjoying the game, it may have some minor faults but the fun factor mostly outways these and they'll get patched eventually. |
