Battlefeild Vietnam is a great and addictive game.. Fans of 1942 will definatly feel right at home. One thing i didnt like about 1942 is it was pretty damn hard to hit and kill people when on your feet. I remember laying down on the ground and shooting at a Nazi 4 or 5 times thile aiming through my scope.. it just wouldnt hit him! BFV has greatly improved upon this, alot of the time you are actually better off on foot

The maps are huge and very lush..There are lots of trees and stuff to hide behind! You can tell alot of thought was put into some of these maps.

Possibly the coolest new addition is the helicopters and the ability to play music in all tanks, planes, jeeps, etc. The helicopters however at first are very hard to fly..ide suggest practicing in the single player mode before jumping into a multiplayer game and crashing.. People will get pissed haha. Once you get a hang of it your hooked!

The helicopters and jets with napalm! make for some really intense firefights. This game will have you playing for months!

» Cons
Ive been playing since the game has released so there has been a few patches which fixed several bugs and balancing issues..

Youd expect the US to have the advantage in almost every map right??? Wrong.. The vietcong get mobile "tunnel" spawn points and heat seeking rockets...The US has none of this. So the vietcong plant a tunnel spawn right behind the main base and just pumps guys through it.. Allthough a good tactic...it gets very annoying. With introduction of helicopters comes base camping. The vietcong hover around the US main base and just blow up everything that moves as soon as they spawn..Since the US doesnt have heat seeking rockets and 1 rocket doesnt blow up a helicopter it is almost impossible to shoot them down! espcially after they lower the rate of fire and strength of the m60! If this happens to you it is very hectic and adreniline pumping..but sometimes it gets the point where you wanna cry. Its near impossible for the US to spawn camp because of the damn heat seeking rockets! On one map..Operation Game Warden..the vietcong get a spawn helicopter..so they hover extremly high above the US main base and people just parachute down. You can shoot down the helicopter and it gets very frustrating. This is the games only major downside

Other then that there is a lack of planes on some maps and their are no huge boats like in BF 1942

Overall Battlefeild Vietnam is a highly addictive and great game..i wouldnt suggest buying it for the single player..so if you dont have a fast internet connection, dont buy it. The servers are pretty fast but you will have to lower the settings if you pc isnt the to great. Its a game definatly worth your money despite a few annoying balancing issues.
