I am playing this game in 2004 and all new computers should be able to run this simulation easily, which eliminates a big minus the game faced when it was released which was the "unrealisticly high system requirments". Those are no longer a reason to deduct points from Sim City 4.
I want to remind the reviewers on this site (especially those that complain about the 'micromanaging') and new comers to Sim City that the title is short for SIMULATED City. In a simulation, the closer one can get to the actual experience, the more successful the simulation is. Complaining that this "game" is not as much "fun" as the older Sim Cities is off the point.
With each new version of Sim City the product gets closer and closer to creating a realistc Mayoring experience. This game has moved leaps and bounds toward that goal in much the same way Sim City 2000 surpasssed Sim City Classic. By connecting all of your smaller cities into one large real-time world this game has broken an old mold and fashioned one that brings us closer to the real experience of city management. Which is what a successful SIMULATION does. When you complain about the micromangement and budget aspects of the game you are complaining that you have too much control over your city, as if being too realistic is a bad move for a simulation to make.
This game delivers on it's promise of making you in charge of REALISTIC city better than any of the previous games, with that in mind, make your decision about whether or not it is right for you. But as an objective reviewer never discredit the product for being "too good". |
